To reach a broader audience, I translated the slide deck of my talk on the development of the Cray-2 supercomputer into English. The talk was held in 2018-04-28 at Vintage Computer Festival Europe in Munich (+VCFe) If you're interested in the German version: it's also in my speakerdeck repository.

I plan to give the talk (slightly revised) in October at the Vintage Computer Festival Berlin. Usually in Berlin there is video streaming and recording, but German only, though. #vcfe #vcfe19 #vintagecomputing #cray2 #cray

Texas Instruments S1507 computer.
68040 with 16MB RAM, 3 x 8-channel communication boards and network controller. The bad news is that the hard disk is dead. May be one day the TI System V installation tape will show up...

I’ve digitized my copy of the 1996 InfoMagic catalog. A remembrance from a time when Internet connections weren’t fast enough to huge downloads and order a bunch of CD-ROM with all the stuff you needed (or don’t) a good idea.

Black (and White) Beauty. Again my 3D printed mini "NeXT cube" raspberry pi case , with raspberry pi3, running Raspbian's WindowMaker and GNUstep. What makes it special is the Portrait Eizo B/W monitor. On the wallpaper you can see a local attraction from my neighborhood, the UFO , aka the water tower, very close to where I live. Ideal place to climb up to in case of Zombie Apocalypse. Not strictly retro but sexy AF!
