Hello everyone,

Thank you for showing interest in helping out with the Belle River and Tecumseh triathlons.  Not only are these events exciting and action-packed, they are also held to raise money for the Hospice of Windsor, which is a very important and meaningful cause.  At the events, it is possible that you will be assigned to a variety of different spots from course marshall, traffic control, to working a water station. We provide food and volunteer shirts for everyone, plus students can get hours through The Hospice if they need them.

Here are the details about the race dates.

The Belle River Triathlon/Duathlon is on July 5th.  The race will take place at the Belle River Beach, just south of the Belle River Marina. Volunteers are asked to be on site by 6:30 a.m.  Parking is at the West Beach, which means that when you are coming inot town from Windsor, turn left BEFORE the bridge and head over the track to the West beach parking lot.  You will be able to find me at the Libro tent where I will designate responsibilities for the race.  Volunteers will be needed until the end of the races which are done around 12 noon.

The Tecumseh Triathlon weekend is on Aug. 8th & 9th. On Aug. 8th the Kids of Steel races will be taking place at Lacasse Park.  Volunteers need to arrive by 7:00 a.m.  Parking is in the main park or in the St. Pius lot.  The volunteer tent will be in the field behind St.Pius.  Again, volunteers will be needed until about 12 noon.  On Aug. 9th the adult races take place at the Riverfront park at Manning and Riverside Dr. Volunteers need to arrive by 6:45 a.m. Parking will be in at the old Lakewood golf course. The volunteer tent will be inside the old clubhouse and again volunteers will be needed until about 12 noon.

For all three events, we can use as many volunteers as you can get as we struggle to get enough each year. If you are available to help out or know of anyone interested, please reply to me personally and let me know which days you are available for. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you and hope to see you there,
J.P. Trepanier
Belle River & Tecumseh Triathlon Volunteer Coordinator
