Im sorry for the delay in articles this summer. It has been so busy. My 3rd grandchild is 3 weeks old now. I have been babysitting the two older ones or resting up from it. Field Day was last week. It was fun. Never lasts long enough for me. We ran 6 meters this year. It was a bust for me. I only had time on Saturday. I heard that it opened up on Sunday. Anyway, when things ease up i will get back to it. Hopefully soon. Any way. Enjoy your summer. 73, Todd.

Found on a facebook page:

Just wanted to pass the word that I was going to buy a Johnson Adventurer from Jeff K3DUA. However, a local ham came up with an equivalent rig for me so I will not be purchasing Jeff's transmitter. His email is K3DUA@erols.com if you are interested. He also has a Johnson VFO if you need one. Thanks to Dan Zeitlin for the tip on the Johnson. 73 Mark K1RMC

What's 50 ohms out and benefits from a multi band antenna? The Knight T 50 and its siblings.

What makes a good antenna for this radio transmitter? I would think a variation on a doublet antenna like a G5RV. Perhaps a Windom style antenna or other off center fed dipole. Maybe just a doublet ( coax to tuner and twin lead to feed point.) Perhaps, but I would think very few of you, use a single wire. My money says most people use a G5RV. No shame in that. I use one.

I never did care much for the Windom style antennas. Carolina or otherwise. I like simpler antennas. My ham neighbor got rid of all his beams and only uses dipoles and G5RV's. Except for 1 elevated vertical, I think that's all he uses anymore. Its single band too. Beams would work well with this radio. Stepp IR antennas are fabulous, I hear. What do you use?

What antenna do you use with your T50/Adventurer/or sister tx?

Got my 160 meter dipole installation repaired finally. 5 antennas left to fix or put up. Maybe.

Here's a COOL Youtube video of a Knight T50 in action during a QSO!  Also, check out the other great vintage gear in this fantastic shack.

Long live the Knight T50!
