Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a classic boat enthusiast. I own a classic Seamate, but do not have it in my possession yet. Still buried in my Grandpa's old garage in the Upper Peninsula. Film of the fourth coat of Pettit Flagship varnish (over 2 coats of Pettit sealer and Pettit Mahogany grain-filling stain) - thinned maybe 5% and applied by roller and tipped by brush (in direction of caulking lines)... not quite glass like - maybe 3-4 more coats - and then will caulk deck seams.
