Thanks for the invite and the only reason I accepted was to blow off a little steam regarding the algorithmic hurricane that is Google and YouTube.
When I burst on to the seen in 2008, I was a worn out building contractor with the realization that "Hey, if you are connected to millions (billions) of people, you should be able to make money"
Well after getting clipped and losing because of my own ignorance, I started kicking butt (EMD's ala Google Sniper methodology).
What I noticed and pursued at the beginning was YouTube. Crappy videos I upped in 2009 still make a little bread. I was dinking around and pulling in beer money per month ($1000) on YT and getting bitch slapped on all my WP sites by G updates.
Zoom into now. Mastered the hummingbird. I don't buy views or likes.
My skill and study (and by that I mean 24/7 sometimes hourly) is finger on the pulse real time testing that allows me to evaluate and dominate buyer keywords until I am sick of it. There are MILLIONS.
So fu*k the google penalty. Part of our services erases that crap if you are deeply invested (time, page rank, links)
Yeah, I have 30 or more sites/domains but they are only landing pages, most are masked redirects at Godaddy. I get traffic from some of the masks ranking on Bing, Yahoo and Google, believe it or not. Scope out BETATESTINGJOBS.com - google "beta testing jobs" I am #6 and it flucuates up to #3 now and then. (no backlinking on my part)
I have mastered a sneaky way of ranking gdaddy masked domains.
My point? When it comes to building sites, don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you don't have the money to beat your competition, move on. If you have killer domain names, hold on to them, buy more dot coms, and wait till the winds die down.
I am going to show you what I did with ONE video in 2013:
