Most commonly asked question "what lens do you use" ... Primarily a Tokina 11mm-16mm and my next favorite is a Cannon 50mm for detail shots and my "head shot intros/outro's"

Our friend Larry Lohrman at photographyforrealestate.net posted a petition asking Obama to Compel the FAA to adapt UK Commercial Standards. http://photographyforrealestate.net/2014/07/06/sign-the-petition-asking-obama-to-compel-faa-to-adopt-uk-like-commercial-suas-standards/

Wow! Dave Dugdale is considering selling all his Canon equipment and going all-in with the new $1,700 Panasonic GH4. It shoots in 4K and then Dave brings it down to 1080p in post which gives it great quality, and having 4K to work with lets him zoom-in and "pan" in post.

I'm not a video pro at all - so you pros can feel free to correct me - but I thought his infatuation was noteworthy.

+John Wake it's smaller than a DSLR camera and the various interchangeable lenses are smaller too. I've mostly used it for photos so far but it's nice to have more control with aperture and zoom compared to using the camera on an iphone.

Very nicely done...loved it.  Agree also that less face time for actors would make video better...more attention to the home.  The aerial shots make it exceptional.

It's a good idea. I have a friend who does a quick video of the front of a potential listing, with some video of the neighborhood, he puts it on YouTube, then shows up to the listing appointment with the video ranking high on a Google search, saying "look what I can do...first page of a google search." Now we know he's first because the house isn't listed yet, but the sellers don't know that.

This is my first post to this forum. My video has Aerial and a Virtual Walking Tour. I listed it on a Friday evening and by Saturday morning we had a full price offer...settled in less than 30 days setting a new price value in the community of Springdale. 1309 Grandview Court, Fallston Maryland 21047. Let me know your tboughts. Also...i am switching to a 3 - axis Brushless Gimbal for my camera to eliminate the swaying.

Hey everyone I just joined the group and am really excited to see what everyone posts and add to some conversations!

This video was actually a re-edit I put together free of charge for a family friend who owns the home in Montana (I am based in California) by combining old clips I've shot during my visits!
Let me know your thoughts!

Here's one we did for a local building brand in New Zealand called Design Builders. Not really 'real estate' as such... But it's a virtual show home for the building company I guess. I know the community rules state no sharing of your own work, but I figured it's kinda different to some of the other real estate videos posted here :)

Our latest listing video... we used a company called  +HouseLens  new to our market (my son works for them and actually did this video:) In the first 24 hours we had 65 views, from the MLS, then within another 24 hours, with a Facebook boost, we had 161 FB views and a total of 520 tour views, the remainder coming from MLS and all the places it syndicates.

I have the raw file and have uploaded it to my YouTube channel, but haven't done a YouTube boost yet. still 24 hours left on my FB boost. I"m absolutely thrilled with this video, the walkthrough really gives you a sense of the layout...I think this video is the best we've ever had... what do you think?

Belinne Real Estate

This is my first attempt at creating a video that isn't just about the listing itself, but rather, a broad topic. The idea is that I can create a video that's interesting and is tied to a topic that will have a longer "shelf life" than just a listing video.
I think this one is still too listing focused and I want to make it more generic and focused on the topic of "living in the countryside." It will be similar to the neighborhood profile videos that we all love, but be based on a more broad topic.
Has anyone else tried this approach? Comments about this specific video?

Most of this would apply to real estate videographers as well, no doubt.

You'll attract better real estate photography clients if you set the ground rules down from day one. Here's how I set new client expectations before the first shoot.
