Tuxedo Cat Cartoons

Here's an interesting little conversation with one of the masters of traditional animation. Eric Goldberg did the animation for the Genie in Aladdin. He has so much passion for his craft that it's leaking out of his ears.

Cheer up, it's only Monday. And that just means that you've got a whole new week that lies ahead. The future is scary and exciting, right? I think so. And if you're still bummed out...here's a new short about the frustrations of hitting a creative wall. And no one likes hitting a creative wall.

Yeah...I have no doubt it is very powerful. I've watched a lot of the videos that have been put out. It's totally worth $400, but I'll get it with the discounted upgrade so that's even better. I'm really looking forward to diving into Moho12 and making a big splash with some great animations.

If you're looking at purchasing (or upgrading to) Moho 12, you may want to check out this offer from Smith Micro:

Buy #Moho and get $100 dollars in free videos and content. I'm not sure what they mean by videos, but I would have to assume it may include some amazing tutorials by someone with red hair...

Edit: the thumbnail shows ASP11. But once you click the link you will see the Moho 12 product page.

Another Question....I'm doing a walk cycle,,,,and Used the Layer transform tool to have the character walk across screen. However, The rendered video shows the characters blurring in an out of focus. I have tried to get the camera to remain in same place...It looks like a undetected camera track,,,,Suggestions Please,,,video is available on request,,,,It is my adaptation of Chads Book Tutorial on ASP 10.

I realize I haven't posted much here lately. Jimmy and I have been working on tutorials for Smith Micro's new animation software. It's been eating up a lot of time. Sometimes my brain has a hard time multitasking.

Anyone working on any cool stuff this weekend?

Trying to digitalize my first handmading photogram... Scanner doesn't work! Damn! Anyway... Could i color all my photograms (yeah one at once) when i will complete them? I'm going to draw just with pencil and eraser, digitalize it, erase the subjects and redraw the motion subjects.

+Chad Troftgruben never mind about the delay, also i am always at work (12h per day) and when i return at home sometimes i am tyred for drawing but yes i am going to check the perfect setting from my draw to my scan because it's too bright when i digitalize it. Is there a tutorial on youtube about the colors? I have a sony z5 smartphone but if i need i could buy an ipad :) you are very gentle! This winter i will have too much time for drawing my artwork. When i will make a couple of scenes i will show you

Has anyone signed up for Amazon Video Direct yet? I'm curious about the platform as it does seem different compared to YouTube or Vimeo. But I haven't had time lately to figure out what kind of content I'd want on there.

If anyone has signed up and uploaded content, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Flexibility. For each title, you can choose to earn royalties based on hours streamed by Prime members, a revenue share for rentals, purchases, monthly subscriptions, or ad impressions—or any combination of these options.

Tips & Tricks  -

Hey guys, we wrote a new book! If you're working with #AnimateCC or #Flash and need help animating a walk cycle, +Jimmy Mills and I got you covered!

The book takes you from beginning to end with the process. Plus, it comes with exercises files to help you every step of the way. We also priced the book low so everyone can benefit.

Let me know if there's more topics out there you'd like us to cover!

Are you ready to start animating? There's no better way to learn than to start with a walk cycle. Once you master the mechanics of the action, other animations will be easier to tackle!

About this community

Super Toon Bros is a community for creative people of all backgrounds to come together, bounce ideas around, collaborate and have fun! Founded by bros Chad Troftgruben (Train Simple, Incredible Tutorials), Jared Winkler (Winky Dink Media, Creator of Cartoon Hook-Ups) and Jimmy "Skillz" Mills (co-animator of Cartoon Hook-Ups, creator of Buddies), our goal is to create an all inclusive community. We welcome all skill sets. Ask questions, post images and videos of your work, seek constructive criticism, discuss ideas, whatever you want! This is your community! We consider you a bro (or sis) too! This group isn't just for animators. Voice actors, artists, musicians, writers, directors, teachers all have a place here. Even if you just want to come in and give feedback or casually browse, that's great! All opinions and ideas are welcomed! While we understand there are younger or more sensitive viewers out there, we will not censor posts or works. We don't want to impede the artistic process. Mature posts will be categorized as such. Beyond that, traditional community rules apply: no spam, no porn, no trolling. Look for a weekly showcase, in addition to other regular content. With that said, welcome to Super Toon Bros!

Hi Chad, I'm gonna agree, I follow your tutorials to the T. I finally had to delete the entire layer and redraw...like you say better to start the bone layer early,,,finally got the smart dials to work,,,,Once I get my character rigged and animated. .Ill upload, the finished product. Thanks to you and Shonuf the tutorials have been a great help. Ill be investing in a software upgrade as well. Take care Mike.

I'm sure that many of you have heard by now, but if you haven't...Anime Studio 12 is coming soon!! However, Anime Studio has changed its name back to Moho. From what I've gathered, Moho 12 is releasing on August 12th.

I know I am not really what many would consider to be an amazing animator. But I have worked with animation software for over 15 years, and I will say this:

Moho 12 is not only the best version in the Anime Studio/Moho line, it's the best animation software I have ever used.

I spent a great deal of time recording tutorials for this new version and I love so much about it. What's interesting is the software hasn't been drastically redesigned. But there's been enough small changes to make the overall package a significant enough departure for me.

After using Moho 12, some of the new features will leave you wondering how you got by without them before. For any Anime Studio fans out there, this is a worthy upgrade. For new animators: this is a fantastic place to start.

I am following the Green Alien Tutorial. The Gradient Tool Either Animates and moves or wont follow ball to raised position.  And when I duplicate the layers and move into bones layer, it goes even more haywire, I can render the file and send it to you for eval. I appreciate your getting back to me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not remember this happening before with any other version of ASP...I'm Using ASP 10, on a new HP laptop wWindows 10 OS which I Fnng hate. I ALSO USE A Wacom Bamboo Create Tablet. Thanks. Mike.

Here's a little test walk cycle that I did for an animated short that I'm working on. I have many different projects that I'm working on periodically, but I'm hoping to have this one finished for Christmas this year, but we'll see. Anyway...it's one of my favorite walks: The Double Bounce.

+Tuxedo Cat Cartoons Based on what I know (which isn't much right now), AS12 is coming this summer. I haven't had much time to play with the Alpha build yet. But from what I've seen and heard, it's looking to be a solid update!
