When we can truly understand the empty nature (i.e. impermanence) of all things, their significance will cease. When situations arise, if only we can take precautions, think rationally, let go, shed unnecessary encumbrances and maintain a well-adjusted, level-headed and even buoyant mindset, then we can avoid psychological barriers such as gloomy pessimism and negativity and all that comes with it.

Kate Thomas, a Teaching Assistant for Khenpo Sherab Sangpo from Bodhicitta Sangha | Heart of Enlightenment Institute (bodhicittasangha.org), offers a step-by-step guided meditation on how to practice White Tara, a meditation on the Mother of all Buddhas that is a practice to increase health, longevity, and inner and outer peace and joy. Many great masters have relied on Tara to realize enlightenment as her visualization and mantra are the energy of wisdom inseparable from compassion that benefits all beings equally. Join us to practice this healing meditation on great equanimity and love.

"I pray that [by practicing White Tara] the whole world may enjoy longevity, prosperity, and all noble qualities; and that happiness may prevail everywhere; that diseases, famines, and wars may be pacified." - Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

This might sound controversial but... is Buddhism the most successful path in history to helping people "reach" enlightenment? What do you think? #how #to #become #enlightened

Fr. 8. Mai, 19.30 Uhr – Vortrag über “Leben, Sterben & Bardo aus buddhistischer Sicht”
Sa. 9. Mai, 10.00 – 12.30 Uhr; 15.00 – 19.00 Uhr – Amitabha-Einweihung und Phowa-Übertragung mit anschließender Praxis,
So. 10. Mai, 10.00 – 12.00 Uhr; 14.00 – 17.00 Uhr – Phowa-Praxis, Praxiserklärungen, Amitabha-Puja

From May 8th to May 10th the Chagdud Khadro will bestow the empowerment in Amitabha from the terma of Dudjom Lingpa and will give the phowa transmission form the terma of Longsal Nyingpo.
Phowa is a swift method in vajrayana and is widely taught in all tibetan traditions to gain liberation and to help sentient beings. By practicing phowa we will be liberated from all negative imprints and thus we cannot be reborn in the lower realms.
Furthermore the practice of phowa is helpful during life, because the consciousness becomes more stable and clear. The motivation for practicing dharma will be firm and the practice itself will be more intense and constant.

fri. may 8th, 7.30 pm – public talk “living, dying & bardo”
sat. may 9th, 10 am – 12 am; 3pm – 7pm – Amitabha empowerment, Phowa transmission and practice,
sun. may 10th, 10 am – 12 am, 2 pm – 5 pm – Phowa practice, teachings and Amitabha puja

Fee: € 180,-- REGISTRATION necessary (enricokosmus@gmail.com)

USELESS is SELF-TORTURE ...
Even though the fool starve himself, month after month, eating only from the tip of a straw, he is not worth a 16th fraction of those who have well comprehended the real truth of Dhamma. Dhammapada 70

Generosity is the first paramita taught by the Buddha. It's such a crucial virtue for us to practice. But how does Buddhism teach us to give wisely? How or where should we focus our efforts? Find out in this next blog post how to keep that togetherness feeling of thanksgiving going all year round. http://www.mirrorofdharma.org/2014/07/generosity-giving-wisely-in-three-fields.html
