You might choose Raspberry Pi because there is a worldwide shortage of BBBs. I'm not saying they are equal but if you need a design and cannot obtain the preferred part, you look for some type of substitute.
Matt and his team have come up with Plotly, a graphing and analytics platform that people use to stream RPi data. You can do nifty things like check your Raspberry Pi temperature from your browser (example here: http://plot.ly/~jensb89/12/). You can get hold of the code here: https://github.com/jensb89/PiTemp.
ok so i need a little help here. i recently purchased a raspberry pi model B. it hasn't arrived yet though. i have this little LCD screen i want to hook up to it, but from the looks of the pi, it doesn't have an adapter for the ribbon cable. the ribbon cable has 26 little pins (correct me if im wrong) at the end of the cable as in the picture. any help would be nice!
