If you have a website, for example www.abcd.com and you also have the domain www.abcd.lk. You are planing to direct www.abcd.lk to www.abcd.com what would be the best practice you use? (Note : the content will be the same)

If there is no content on abcd.lk, then use a 301 redirect.

We are working on a number of link removal projects. Does anyone know of a source we can look at that listed known negative public link networks that are known as spammy/low quality that are likely to get your site triggered for a algorithmic or manual penalty?

No public source that I know of, you could try and ask one of the agencies or SEOs that have done a lot of link removal / disavows but they probably won't share it since it is a valuable asset.

Thanks! There is plenty in there about Trust and Citation Flow, as well as Topical Trust Flow. We are pleased with the content +Ken McGaffin  has put together.

Will Majestic ever add live filtering. It's a huge pain to download data every time to do any kind of filtering. Thanks.

Cool, will do +Majestic SEO I have a genuine interest though, SEO is the missing link that most PRs are missing out on IMHO. Cheers, Dave. P.S. I connected with +Dixon Jones after reading his presentation post #brightonseo  http://blog.majesticseo.com/general/links-still-matter-2014/

+Dixon Jones wrote a blog about how to investigate your competitors URLs:
Gabrielle Benedetti asked a brilliant question the other day: Why is Gabriele Asking? When using Majestic, there is a drop down (or if you have personalized your settings, radio buttons) after you hit the search button: This drop down does not appear by default on the home page, as we interpret what we THINK you…

Good point of +Dixon Jones that we should compare pears with pears but not pears with apples. However, we the paper by Jon Kleinberg, "Authoritative Sources in a Hyperlinked Environment", shares a thought that a root or subdomain should "[...] one expects to find many thousand relevant pages on the www [...]".
http://www.cs.cornell.edu/home/kleinber/auth.pdf

That's why I think that if we look only into the page this in some cases could be a serendipity ranked page from not so relevant domain. This is possible if there are no other strong and relevant sources. So, I think it makes sense to have a look into the domain or subdomain in some particular cases.

I love Majestic, but there is one thing that drives me nuts.  This has to be me being stupid I'm sure:
1. Enter a domain to analyse (majestic.com - root domain)
2. Switch to Ref Doimains to look for something interesting
3. ForeverSwedish.org looks interesting  - lets see what pages majestic has links on from that domain

In other tools I'd now click on foreverswedish.org and see the linked pages, or have an option to switch to that view.  With Majestic I need to create a report and download the data.

I'm not missing something there am I?   I seem to be doing that sort of quick analysis more than in depth reports these days so this is bugging me.

The Clique Hunter tool is one of the quickest ways to analyse competitors in the eyes of link prospecting.
It is no secret that Majestic will have the most comprehensive data set to analyse your sites. Not only that, you can also gather information on your competitors also. Analysing your competitors is a great way to catch some links that you may be missing from your link profile. Easy competitor analysis The Clique Hunter…

We have a client that has purchased a few of its competitors and plans to amalgamate everything into one main site. Each old site has an SEO footprint and we plan to create 301s to point to each of the old sites urls (across multiple domains) to appropriate pages  on their main site (eg: Oldco1.com/aboutUS > newco.com/aboutus and Oldco2.com/aboutus > newco.com/aboutus) . Does anyone have an experience share around around this and timing. (eg: do 301s for site1 and then wait a week and do site2)? Or do we just follow the same practices as doing normal 301s.

I'm with +Richard Foulkes . Things do go wrong, when moving domains though. Notably - if any have Penguin issues, these issues not flow through 301s. But amalgamating sites - expect a drop for a while, but the traffic should return. Some caveats - when we moved majesticseo.com to majestic.com, we knew we woudl give up position 3 for the phrase SEO... because we lost it in the domain name. We have, and will probably never get it back, so be ready for some pushback!

Hi, Another question about lost backlinks: When I check the lost links in Majestic, it seems that the links are not lost. the lost date is on 6/10/14
how does Majestic establish these lost backlinks

Hi example: http://bit.ly/10YKtp6
goes to: http://bit.ly/1vSYBd5
still works,  but in Majestic it shows as lost link. It's not that bad, but wondering why, i've got more like this, though i 'm not sure sometimes links are dropped and reastablished.

Hoster blocks MJ12bot - how to verify site?
Hi! the problem is the subj: i try to get any working solution how to verify my site by MajesticSeo without to move it to another hoster. Support guys haven't offer any working idea.
Hey community! Do you know what to do in such case?
Thanks to all!

If your hoster is blocking our bot, we will not give you your data for free. You will need to convince your hosting company to stop blocking one of the five largest crawlers on the planet. Another option is to have a paid account with Majestic, then you will not need to verify your site. This costs £29 / $40 a month. Some argments that you can give your hosting company are here: http://blog.majesticseo.com/general/verifying-site-majesticseo-every-seo-audit/ - sorry, there is no other option.

+Aravind Seo also have a look to competitors in a specific niche and country . These values are different, since the number of domains and URLs is completely different per area of interest.
