We are experiencing more and more communication and less and less real human engagement and connection.

What it the disconnect? Is it because we only hear what we listen for? And what are we listening for in our work and personal lives?

We get so used to hearing the same old tired messages and ideas that they have no real meaning any more. In politics, advertising, marketing and business, words start to mean very little, because we believe we have seen and heard it all before. And we know so much of it is a lie anyway.

And so we start tuning out while we spend even more time pretending to communicate. In the end, we are left with a weird communication deficit.

We keep consuming more and feeling less.

It's like eating fast food. No matter how much you eat, you can't get healthy on it.
