La Terre, notre planete Mere est en danger. Elle est atteinte d'une maladie grave causer par un virus qui se reproduit a une vitesse phénoménal.
Les principaux symptomes de cette maladie sont la la perte de la protection atmosphérique (couche d'ozone), la destruction progressive et accélerer des poumons (les arbre), de plus ces virus peuvent causer des perte de mémoire (le pétrole étant le souvenir des especes précédente)
Certain l'auront reconnu cette maladie ces l'humanité et le virus qui en est la cause ces nous, l'homo sapiens.

OWNER SUR Reason NO TIME
No time for dog – personal reasons.
Health issues – back arthritis, difficulty climbing stairs. Stilted hip gait – arthritic. Alopecia caudal back.
Nervous. Allowed petting and most of exam cautiously but growling when checking for microchip. No longer wanted to be handled. Checked hips for arthritis – painful, growled and tried to bite.
Would not allow much manipulation or extension of hips – painful.
Prognosis: Fair .
Weight 77.8

LIVED WITH 4 CHILDREN, PLAYS GENTLY WITH THEM~RAMBO

Rambo is a 7 year old male Black Lab Mix
Previous owner can longer have the dog to a recent bite incident.
According to the previous owner, around strangers, Rambo is friendly and outgoing. Around adults, Rambo plays in an exuberant manner. Rambo has been around 4 children ages 1-10. With children, Rambo plays in a gentle manner.
Rambo has lived with one other small dog and was respectful and playful and played in a gentle manner. He has never bitten another animal but, had bit a person.
For a New Family to Know: Rambo is described as friendly, affectionate, playful and confident with a high activity level. When in the home, Rambo is the type to follow you around seeking attention. Rambo likes balls, squeaky toys, toy bones, and rawhide and he likes to play chase. Rambo was kept mostly indoors. According to previous owner, Rambo is house-trained and never had any accidents. Rambo knows commands sit, fetch, and speak.

Behavioral Eval Summary: Rambo displayed no concerning behavior during his handling assessment. During his initial medical exam, Rambo was social and allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: His owner describes Rambo as having a high activity level which matches what we have seen in the care center.

Adoption Program:
In an effort to promote the adoption of healthier animals and to help reduce the number of unwanted litters, Gaston County Police Department Animal Care and Enforcement Division and the listed Gaston County veterinarians have agreed to an ADOPTION/MEDICAL CONTRACT to achieve these goals.

ADOPTION FEES
$90.00 for CANINES
$75.00 for FELINES
The adopted pet will receive the following services from a participating Gaston County veterinarian
▪Routine physical exam
▪Worm check & deworming
▪Heartworm check (dogs)
▪First set of vaccinations only
 ▪ Dogs receive (DHLPP): distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, & parainfluenza
▪ Cats receive (FVRCP): feline vaccination, rhinotrachetis, calici, & panleukopena
▪Rabies vaccination
▪One year license tag
▪Mandatory spay or neuter
Animal Care and Enforcement delivers the adopted pet to the Veterinarian Clinic of choice, and the adopter picks their pet up at the veterinarian's office.

The public may place holds on animals PRIOR to the release date, which are only good until 11am on that release date. 
IN PERSON HOLDS may be placed at the shelter during regular business hours when interacting with a pet.

ONLINE HOLDS For rescue or adoption visit adoptgastonpets.com and Click on View Shelter Pets. You may then enter the  Tag number in order to see if the animal your interested in is still available.

Holds must be placed before 8:00am on the animals release date!!

Adoption priority will be given at 11am in the order holds are received, with in-person holds surpassing phone holds. 

After the release date, the animals are available on a first come - first serve basis.  On the chance that these pets may no longer be available, Animal Care and Enforcement staff encourages anyone interested in adopting a pet to consider a different pet in the shelter.

Explanation of Animal Descriptions:
📍 Adoptable Pets
These animals may be adopted and full veterinary services identified in the adoption-medical contract will be provided under the direction of the participating veterinarian.  No direct or implied assurance has been given that these animals are either behaviorally suitable or healthy and a waiver to this effect will have to be signed by the adopter prior to adoption.
📍 Foster
Some animals listed on the website will reflect “foster”, as the cage holding area.  Foster indicates the animal is being housed and cared for by a local representative of a 501-c (3) humane/rescue group, outside of the animal shelter.
📍 VTech
Some animals listed on the website will reflect “vtech”, as the cage holding area.  Vtech (or Vet Tech) indicates the animal has satisfied the required holding period and is receiving additional medical care and attention through participation in Gaston College’s Veterinarian Technology program.  Under federal guidelines, animals under the care and custody of the Vet Tech Program cannot be considered for claim or adoption until returning to Animal Care and Enforcement authority.
📍 Available to Placement Partner or Rescue Only
These animals are only available to placement partners due to presenting specific health or temperament concerns, which require specialized expertise.
