+Christopher Cohen lol - I often wondered what happened to those 80's and 90's photographers who used the vaseline on the lens for an ugly bride.

Passing the B Class at Bradman's on Bourke
Enjoy it while you can Melbourne Photowalkers, as 272 Bourke St Mall has been sold as 'future development potential'. It looks like we'll soon be losing another piece of Melbourne history.

Heading to big desert ( between Horsham and Mildura) in 2 weeks. Any tips on taking action shots of our 4x4s? Not quite sure what to expect.

I can't say I've ever shot 4x4's in a desert, but I always try to anticipate what to expect. Once you work out what the limitations and tools offered by the environment you should have fixed some of your issues before they arise, and come up with a few ideas for shots.

For example I'd be worried about sand (use filters + hoods) and motion (prefocus manually if autofocus isn't working out) but excited about a fairly empty set, headlights, stars, low angled light at dawn and dusk...

Also research similar pictures and you should get a good idea of the environment. Sorry for the lengthy reply - I probably shouldn't post before coffee - but I hope I've helped get the wheels spinning. Please share what you end up taking

People who have access to Netflix.

I just noticed that the 2012 documentary on Don McCullin (titled "McCullin") is in the Documentary section. If you are in any way interested in photojournalism or just great photography and you have not seen this I strongly recommend that you spend some time with it.

First attempt at using my flash to 'Lock the subject'. Fairly happy with the result, tripod would have helped. Probably should have taken the time to frame the shot better too.
