At long last Philip Ridley's debut feature gets a blu-ray release.

Initially released in 1990 with little fanfare The Reflecting Skin was unfairly branded sub-Lynchian and disappeared into the ether.

I saw the film in an almost empty, long gone cinema in Picadilly Circus and fell in love with it. Combining high melodrama, dreamlike imagery and gothic Americana this is a deliciously over-ripe film about a young boy's obsession with a neighbour whom he believes to be a vampire.
Filled with imagery of the inevitability of death and the strangeness of life the film weaves a rich atmosphere that needs to be fully succumbed to.
I don't think this ever got a UK DVD release so this restored blu ray is undoubtedly a cause for celebration for fans like myself.
