Werner Maurer: +Fritz Carstensen Energy is much more than the ability to do work, energy is part of the energy-momentum-vektor. If you take the energy-momentum-tensor as the base quantity, then energy and momentum are equal components with a common transformation behavior. That is the basis of my approach to mechanics and not the historical road. To understand these ideas you have to get rid of established theories. Try to understand all the calculations in this video with the help of the liquid image. Without this image - I don't know!?

Werner Maurer: +Tarun Karma When the ball hits the ground, momentum flows forward in the ground, there is compression stress but the force arrow is still negatively directed because momentum flows out. But this is not the situation discussed here. Here the ball hangs on the thread and momentum flows backwards, therefore tension stress. You can turn the direction of the z-axis and momentum flows the other way but still backward in the thread and forward in the metal strips. All force arrows stay as they are, unchanged. A flow of momentum (associated to the test object or the field in which the test object resides?) is its rate of change which is the force acting on it F=dp/dt. An impulse gives rise to a change in momentum, p. Why not use standard language?

Currents make me think of arcane ideas such as: Momentum conservation arises when a test body within a system can be moved from one position to another position which is identical ( if a bench gets in the way that position at the bench is not identical to one just above it) to it: the space of the system (of test body and field) is homogenous. Near earth we assume the g field itself is homogenous.
