How To Fix MUSCULAR And SYMMETRY Imbalances ?
If your left arm is smaller than your right, if maybe your right pec looks different than your left, if your abs are "crooked"... then you're in the right place ! I'm going to give you tips on how to fix these problems.
First of all, what's a muscular imbalance and what's a symmetry imbalance?
A muscular imbalance is when a muscle on one side is bigger than the one on the other side. For example, if your left arm is smaller than your right, if your left trap is bigger than your right...
A symmetry imbalance is when the left side of your body looks different than your right, the genetic structure of the muscles are different. Uneven ab muscles for example.
Now let's get one thing out of the way first, you CAN'T fix a symmetry imbalance ! Why? Because you can't change your muscle insertions and your genetic structure, you just have to deal with what you have and don't stress about it because it's not a big deal and rarely does someone notice that but you.
How to fix a muscular imbalance? I'm going to give you 3 approaches on how to fix this problem.
Approach #1: This is the most obvious one. If for example, your left arm is smaller than your right, do everyday activities that you used to do with your left arm, with your right arm. Carrying the groceries for example, I know it's easier to carry them with your stronger arm but if you want to catch up, you better be carrying them with your weaker arm. :D
Approach #2: One word ! Dumbbells ! Perform as much movements as you can by using dumbbells instead of a barbell. When you perform a movement with a barbell, you naturally tend to put in more effort with your stronger arm, so this will fix that problem because both arms will be doing the same amount of work.
Approach number 3: Unilateral movements ! Incorporate unilateral movements in your workouts. What you're going to do is, you're going to perform a movement firstly with your weaker arm and after that with your stronger arm, or leg.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erHHtsZtxvM
