New video is up on my channel ! :D The Dumbbell Pullover EXPLAINED !

Video content:
The dumbbell pullover is a great exercise that can be used either at the end of your chest workouts, or at the end of your back workouts because this exercise hits both your lats and your chest. It's also a great exercise for bringing up your serratus. Although this exercise hits both your chest and your lats, I'm going to show you 2 variations and each one focuses more on either the chest or your lats.

If you're doing a back workout, here's how you'll perform the exercise, this way I feel a lot more lats activation than the chest. Mind-muscle connection has a role in this as well. You're going to lay on a bench only with your upper back, grab the dumbbell and stretch your lats as much as you can on the way down and bring it somewhere above your upper chest. No need to go any further, I've seen a lot of people bringing it all the way down to the belly, and there's no reason for that.

If you're doing a chest workout, now you're going to lay on the bench with your entire body and that way your lats are going to have a lot less involvement in the movement. So you'll perform the movement exactly as I mentioned before. stretch your arms as much as you can on the way down, and on the way up bring the dumbbell above your chest region.

Compulsive Overeating Eating: The Signs and Causes

While overeating on occasion is not going to hurt you, binge eating can have negative effects on your health. If you find yourself eating out of control, you may be a victim of binge eating disorder, which is not good for your health.

Those with binge eating disorder often have feelings of depression, guilt, and disgust with themselves. Binge eating has adverse effects on your health and it doesn’t have to be this way if you can get a handle on your eating behaviors.

Binge eating usually starts in the teen years or in early adulthood. It often follows a period of dieting. During a binge-eating episode, you might even eat when you are not even hungry and may even eat after you are completely full. It might feel comforting for a short period of time, but then it turns into nothing more than self-loathing and remorse.

Signs Of A Binge Eating Disorder

If you have binge eating disorder, you may be ashamed of yourself and embarrassed by your eating behaviors. You may try to hide your eating pattern and instead eat secretively. This can make it difficult for loved ones to recognize you are sick. Most binge eaters look like everyone else. Some are obese or overweight; however, most binge eaters have a normal body mass index.

Signs you may have a binge eating disorder include the following:

•        Eating constantly throughout the day and not just at mealtimes
•        Eating normally when others are around but devouring food when you are alone
•        Stockpiling or hiding food in order to later eat secretively
•        Eating when you are already full
•        Eating large amounts of food over a short period of time
•        Having an inability to control what you’re putting into your mouth.
Emotional signs of compulsive overeating or binge eating include the following:
•        Feeling desperate to control your eating habits and weight
•        Feeling depressed, disgusted, or guilty after eating too much
•        Never feeling satisfied no matter how full you are
•        Feeling emotional numbness while binge eating
•        Being embarrassed over your eating habits
•        Feeling stress of tension that is only relieved by eating more food

Some causes of binge eating disorder include the following:

•        Biological risk factors. These are the biological effects that can contribute to eating too much. The hypothalamus (which controls appetite) may not be send you the right messages about fullness and hunger. There appears to be a genetic mutation that may be behind some people’s binge eating disorder that results in their compulsive overeating behaviors.
•        Psychological risk factors. There is a strong link to binge eating and depression. Many binge eaters are either depressed or have been depressed in the past. Other binge eaters may have difficulty controlling their impulses and cannot adequately express their feelings. Not being satisfied with your body and the way it looks, feelings of loneliness and social isolation and low self-esteem are all issues that can result in binge eating.
•        Cultural and social risk factors. There may be social pressure to be skinny that can add to the shame that a binge eater feels that adds to their emotional overeating. Sometimes, parents contribute to binge eating by using food to reward, dismiss, or comfort their children. Kids who are constantly criticized about their weight and their bodies are prone to binge eating.

The bottom line is that binge eating disorder leads to an array of social, physical, and emotional issues. Those with binge eating disorder often have more problems, such as suicidal tendency, difficulty sleeping, stress and exposure to other health problems.

Help is available, and it is critical for both your physical and psychological health to get professional help as soon as possible by talking to a qualified professional today.

New video is up on my Youtube channel !

How To Fix MUSCULAR And SYMMETRY Imbalances ?

Video content:
If your left arm is smaller than your right, if maybe your right pec looks different than your left, if your abs are "crooked"... then you're in the right place ! I'm going to give you tips on how to fix these problems.

First of all, what's a muscular imbalance and what's a symmetry imbalance?

A muscular imbalance is when a muscle on one side is bigger than the one on the other side. For example, if your left arm is smaller than your right, if your left trap is bigger than your right...

A symmetry imbalance is when the left side of your body looks different than your right, the genetic structure of the muscles are different. Uneven ab muscles for example.

Now let's get one thing out of the way first, you CAN'T fix a symmetry imbalance ! Why? Because you can't change your muscle insertions and your genetic structure, you just have to deal with what you have and don't stress about it because it's not a big deal and rarely does someone notice that but you.

How to fix a muscular imbalance? I'm going to give you 3 approaches on how to fix this problem.

Approach #1: This is the most obvious one. If for example, your left arm is smaller than your right, do everyday activities that you used to do with your left arm, with your right arm. Carrying the groceries for example, I know it's easier to carry them with your stronger arm but if you want to catch up, you better be carrying them with your weaker arm. :D

Approach #2: One word ! Dumbbells ! Perform as much movements as you can by using dumbbells instead of a barbell. When you perform a movement with a barbell, you naturally tend to put in more effort with your stronger arm, so this will fix that problem because both arms will be doing the same amount of work.

Approach number 3: Unilateral movements ! Incorporate unilateral movements in your workouts. What you're going to do is, you're going to perform a movement firstly with your weaker arm and after that with your stronger arm, or leg.

Suicide survivor attempting to cycle around the world raising awareness of mental health

So today is world suicide prevention day and I have a message of hope for anyone feels suicidal. On the 26th of May 2015 I woke up in a hospital bed after my own failed suicide attempt. Fast forward to 26th May 2016 I set off on my global challenge to cycle around the world raising awareness of mental health issues. 6 months ago I wasn't even a cyclist and hadn't ever cycled more than a couple of miles on a bike. Yesterday I just completed my longest day on a bike pedalling 91 miles in 7 hours, taking my total miles to over 3,000 in 9 countries. If there was hope for me then there is hope for you ❤️'
