At Poe, we love the way Out of Eden (http://learn.outofedenwalk.com/) helps students develop global awareness.  To further enhance it, Jill Ziegler and I created a Global Awareness Club.  We placed information about the club in a presentation that we shared at this year's State Conference for Teachers Serving Linguistically & Culturally Diverse Students.  Here is the link

Lots of interesting background info but practical classroom strategies such as incorporating more kinesthetic activities and varying routine within a structured environment. I think these can be useful tips for teachers supporting students who struggle with attention/focus in any content area or class. Not sure if this was already shared but if not, here's the post!

At Poe, we've been spending a lot of time recently discussing the concept of classroom culture and its effect on students's learning.  I found a couple of videos that could be used as a springboard for a class discussion on how one's actions impact others.
