To ALL Pastor's Kids Out There: My Life Has Changed

I, as a child, have grown up in a Christian home and my grandfather was the pastor of our church and my dad was the youth pastor at the time and so I really was chill because I didn't understand when I was younger what those positions meant. I've been a pastor's kid my whole life because my dad was the youth pastor, assistant pastor, and now senior pastor. So within my 11 years of life, he did those things. The day my dad became the pastor on 6/3/17, I was happy and my grandfather is getting older and needs some help and is dealing with physical health and has had 2 hospital visits, which really shook my world into pieces and I could tell that he wasn't happy and that made my heart shake so bad because the Friday he was supposed to get out was the day that he was going to miss my play and I just was broken. I asked myself "Why is this happening to me?" Then, as my parents started having meetings and ministers' training, I felt forgotten and felt like there was no time for me at all because they'd always go to their room and talk about something and I would have to find something else to do. After a while, I just felt like I just didn't matter anymore to them.

Then, my parents talked to me and then they said, "We love you and we want to make sure that you're included in this as well. Ministry doesn't come before you. Just because we are busy doesn't mean that we don't love you."

I am grateful for the talk me and my parents had because it helped us to accept each other and learn from this situation.
