Thanks to some wonderful homeschool friends, I have put together some words of encouragement for all those who are thinking of homeschooling or who have just decided to take the plunge. I hope you find comfort and confidence in their words.

The school system in Australia is failing families and children with autism resulting in a move towards homeschooling!

Finding it a bit difficult at the moment with 13yo whose learning profile is all over the place. She has visual processing problems, but from what I am hearing some of these learning difficulties can also be attributed to autism. Like executive functioning and organising into sequence with thoughts.

Had a conversation with a friend recently about self regulation and radical unschooling. It is a good discussion to have in unschooling circles as most people advocating it do not have an asd child. Self regulation is something that most asd children need help with because if left to their own devices... will not self regulate by making intuitive links to choices and behaviours, discomfort, body awareness, etc.

Feeding the wildlife.... we fed the kids and they fed several very large garden skinks. I got a photo of one. It was ginormous!
