UPDATED MON AUG 14th !!
Speedometer parts list for Sept 6th Arduino Workshop.

(NOTE: be sure to expand this post to see the whole list!)

We're going to start simple and keep improving it over the course of a few shows. These parts will get us started for the basic version.

(Qty 1) TM1637 LED Digital Tube 4 digit 7 segment with I2C backpack

(Qty 2) TCRT5000 Optical Sensor pair

(Qty 2) 10K ohm resistor

(Qty 2) 150 ohm resistor

UPDATE!! Add (QTY 2) 100K ohm resistor

All of these parts are readily (and cheaply) available on eBay from US suppliers. I got all of mine in less that a week from 3 different suppliers. I found that a lot of the Chinese suppliers are setting up distribution in the US. Filter your search to US only and you'll find them quickly.

I had a question regarding my locomotive build. I plan to use the Athearn BB trucks that came with the model but I have a new walthers motor to install. It comes with the standard two wires for each truck, but I wasn't sure exactly where each one went and if I could use the tab at all. If anybody can help or possibly draw where the leads go on my image that would be great!
