My first installment of my covers of Cliff Edwards, aka Ukulele Ike songs. I hope you enjoy them! Chords and Lyrics are included for all songs.

Cliff Edwards (June 14, 1895 – July 17, 1971) was an American musician and entertainer who played the ukulele. He adopted the stage name “Ukulele Ike" in 1917. As a musician he moved from Vaudeville, to making records, radio, movies and into television. He is most famously remembered as the voice actor who was the voice of Jiminy Cricket in Walt Disney's “Pinocchio”. He appeared in over 100 movies and made over 200 records. In the 20s and 30s he sold over 75 Million records! It made him a Millionaire.

He is credited as a major influence in the upsurge of popularity of the ukulele in the 1920s and in influencing Tin Pan Ally to write songs specifically with the ukulele in mind. Ukulele Ike played Martin Ukuleles in tenor and soprano sizes. He was a pioneer in the art of scat singing. He called it Effing.

High living, the Great Depression, drugs and alcohol led to his downfall. When he died in 1971 he was a pauper. There was no one to collect the body so it was Donated to the UCLA School of Medicine. The Actors' Fund of America and the Motion Picture and Television Relief Fund had to by the body back from that institution to give him proper burial. He is buried in Valhalla Memorial Park. Walt Disney Productions paid for his grave marker.

Ukulele Ike was a great man. This playlist is my modest attempt to cover songs he recorded on ukulele. I hope you enjoy them. Lyrics and Chord arrangement are found in all videos
