Entry Deadline For August Second Saturday Sprint

Just a reminder that the deadline for submitting entries via the web form for the August Second Saturday Sprint is tomorrow (Saturday) night at midnight.

I had a report of a glitch in the form where 20m contacts could not be entered. If you experience the same problem, enter your contacts as 15m instead. I'll be taking a look at the form before the next sprint.

I will be at St Andrews State Park near Panama City, FL for the SSS. I will call CQ at 2:00 PM CDT on 7.030 then at 2:30 on 7.285 LSB and at 3:00 on 14.061 and at 3:30 at 14.285. If I don't hear anything I will hunt and pounce. Frequencies are plus or minus QRM. The SKCC Weekend Sprint usually provides some contacts. Also 146.565 FM simplex counts.I will monitor the Panama City 145.210 repeater. I will look at qrpspots.com also. Chasers are welcome and appreciated. Let me know if you are portable or chasing. The SSS rules are at this link My number is 103.

August Second Saturday Sprint

I hope everyone had an enjoyable time with Flight of the Bumblebees last weekend, and of course we're all looking forward to the Skeeter Hunt on the 20th. Right in between those two is this month's Second Saturday Sprint on the 12th. Details and rules are in the left navigation under About Community.

Mark your calendars for 2 hours of QRP fun and, if you don't have a member number to submit a log, send an email with your name and callsign to qfo.sss@gmail.com. Hope to hear you on the air!

Your host, John W7DBO, will explore what gear works best, how to deploy in the field, and most importantly how to have fun! The podcast will also explore what you can do with your gear once deployed; Including emergency communications, contesting, event support, and of course Field Day.

SYBO - We Missed It

I just read on QRP-L that Scorch Your Butt Off was yesterday. Too bad it's the first time I'd heard about it or I would have posted the information. I wasn't able to operate the RaDAR event on Saturday because of rain so it would have been nice to get out on Sunday for a bit.
