Hello, fellow bloggers,
Everyone has a story to tell. Perhaps a life story, or, in my case, a part thereof: from my birth to the time I finished high school, but fictionalised and extrapolated. I called the book Simple Things, and it was the first novel I wrote... oh, some five years ago. 108,000 words, and I was as proud as punch with what I had done.
However, since then, having written four other novels and with two works in progress, I have learned considerably the craft of writing, so the book I was as proud as punch of, I now realise was purely amateurish and in desperate need of a rewrite. Hasn't happened as yet, and maybe it won't; but the important thing is that I wrote it. Why? Because I wanted to. Simple as that.
And is simple. Perhaps you have thought of becoming a writer but don't know where to start. Well, writing about yourself is the best place to start. In fact, many successful authors began their writing careers by doing exactly that with their first novel. Like I did. It's always best to write about what you know and have experienced then let your imagination run riot. And believe me, once you start you will surprise yourself with what you come up with. And more often than not, what you come up with will be simple in context. It could be a brief encounter with someone that for some reason left a lasting impression by what they said or did, or an experience, short or long, that also left a lasting impression for whatever reason. Our minds are full of such events, as are photo albums and videos. Brief moments in time that can be looked upon and watched and literally fire up the imagination. Oooo, maybe that would make for a story, kind of thing. We are only limited by our imaginations, and we all possess such whether we realise it or not. All it takes is taking the time to put pen to paper and write whatever it is that pops into your head. No matter how silly it seems, not matter how banal, just keep on writing it all down until there's nothing left in your head to write, then read what you have written. And I guarantee you that among all that gobbledegook you will find a word, words, a sentence, or maybe a paragraph that will give you food for further thought and thus get the ball rolling. I do that all the time rather than being confronted with a glaring white screen and a flashing cursor, because both can be very distracting, especially for the newbie! In fact, I wrote my first two novels freehand before committing them to Microsoft Word, and continued to write freehand in bits and pieces for my other novels. And I always made notes on pieces of paper or in a notebook because I found both more convenient. A pen and a little spiral notebook slip into a pocket no problem whatsoever, whereas lugging a laptop or IPad or such around is a goddamn pain in the backside. At least as far as I'm concerned, anyway! But to each their own.
So if you want to write, start writing, because when all is said and done, it's only you stopping you, and I think that's true with everything in life. Besides, nothing ventured, nothing gained, and what do you have to lose? What? Nothing. Not a goddamn thing!
Until next time, bye for now.

The best option to get the device in your hands. How do you choose and can manage these devices also can determine the success of the would you get it later, so it cannot be taken for granted. The price is not a guarantee that the device has a way of working which is very nice and can make you impressed with the results later.

**Movie Review: Dum Laga Ke Haisha**

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is an honest attempt by Sharat Katariya to present a humble story with ‘easy to believe’ sequences and ‘love to watch’ characters which lends a ‘feel good smile’ on your face and ‘nostalgic vibe’ in your heart.

Go and get refreshed with this absolutely delightful film, straight from the heart. Witness the magic of yesteryears unfolding slowly before you with the wonderful music, scintillating background score and magnanimous 90’s backdrop.

Rating: 3.75/5
