Hello, my name is Jacquleyn Hollister-Tyson, and I am the founder of Her Mind & Body. My vision for Her Mind & Body was realized in 2008 at the age of 29. At the time I was a wife, the mother of a 4 year old and a 9 year old, a college student, and a full-time employee, so you see, I wore many hats, as a lot of women do. In addition to carrying those many titles, I was also overweight, which did not feel very well. I had previously lost a great deal of weight in 2007, but at the time I was a stay at home mom, wife and a part-time student, so the stress was not as great. It wasn't until I started back working that the weight gradually began to come back. After this happened, I took the time and sat down to reflect on my situation. I eventually came to the conclusion that stress is what resulted in me gaining the weight back, and it was stress that was making it difficult to lose the weight. I thought about major stressors that I was having at the time which included financial woes, a failing relationship, and an extremely disorganized environment and after careful evaluation, I came to the realization that weight loss should not only involve a healthy diet and regular exercise, but also a stress management plan. I found that once my life was in order, my desire to live a healthier life—mentally, emotionally, and physically—naturally increased. I am now a health coach and have been for 2 years. I help women who desire to lose weight to improve their eating habits, develop enthusiasm towards physical fitness, and teach simple techniques for reducing stress in their lives. I truly believe that we all have the strength to improve ourselves and that Her Mind & Body has the tools and resources to help you.
