I gave the Jazz players Summer League grades and discussed how their play impacts their chances to secure a roster spot.  Check it out.
Summer league should be taken for what it is, glorified practice games. You cannot make many decisions on a player based off summer league. Players who thrive in summer league often amount to nothing in the NBA. For example, Jeffery Taylor was All-Summer League Team in 2013 and that same year Ian Clark won the […]

The biggest pro is also the biggest con as a sports fan. Passion, spirit and emotion. That emotion does not bode well to be objective. The Utah Jazz will wil between 44 and 48 games playoffs or not. 50-80% of Utah Jazz fans might be disappointed.

Utah Jazz aren't just interested in winning, they are looking to develop and conquer | #UtahJazz #NBA

Lackluster, dull, unadventurous, bland, yawner, boring; there are so many adjectives to describe 2015 NBA Free Agency, if you’re a Utah Jazz fan. If you are a fan of any other team, I have one word: It’s been a lucrative offseason for NBA free agents…

Who's mock draft was most accurate?  I took a look at the numbers after the draft.
Every year I find it fun to track which NBA mock drafts were most accurate.  Projecting the draft is a crap shoot in the first place, but it’s fun to see who hit the bulls-eye.  My process is to input the top mock drafts into a spreadsheet. Then to track the accuracy of the mock draft […]

Here is my 2015 NBA Mock Draft.  What I think each team will do.
NBA Mock Draft – The 2015 NBA Draft is a little more than two weeks away.  Teams have been flooded with workouts and everyone is trying to decide who to pick when they are on the clock.  So here is my first mock draft of the year.  In this mock draft I am selecting the […]

Here is my draft profile on the Croatian player, Mario Hezonja. He is the mystery of this draft and I think he will be the steal of the year.
With the 2015 NBA Draft quickly approaching, it’s time to start looking at prospects for the Utah Jazz. Today we are going to dive into Mario Hezonja from Croatia. We will look at his background, stats, strengths, weaknesses, fit with the Utah Jazz and player comparisons. Background Mario Hezonja is the “unknown” prospect in the […]

I took some time to look at Stanley Johnson, a draft prospect that the Jazz could be interested in.
With the 2015 NBA Draft quickly approaching, it’s time to start looking at prospects for the Utah Jazz.  Today we are going to dive into Stanley Johnson from the University of Arizona.  We will look at his background, stats, strengths, weaknesses, fit with the Utah Jazz and player comparisons. I love how this blog ends. I really like this team. It has been a wile sense I could care less about free agents and the draft. Bring back the Jazz! http://www.slcdunk.com/nba-free-agency/2015/3/31/8323845/nba-free-agency-2015-salary-cap-space-utah-jazz

An in-depth look at how the Enes Kanter trade has transformed the Utah ‪#‎Jazz‬ into an elite defense‬:
Things didn’t exactly end on a cheery note for Enes Kanter and the Utah Jazz. When head coach Quin Snyder started giving too many minutes to Rudy Gobert (and by too many, I mean not enough, since Gobert was clearly a monster-in-the-making), Kanter grew frustrated in such a crowded frontcourt and told Aaron Falk of […]

This is a little old but it gives a good look at the person who might be the future of the jazz
Joe Ingles was signed by the Utah Jazz after playing with the Clippers in the Pre-season. Not much was expected of the 27 year old rookie, who came from the Australian National Team. But Joe Ingles or "Jingles" as I call him ...

Here is my list of realistic targets that the Utah Jazz could look at in free agency, with a bit of an explanation on what is happening with the salary cap.
Free agency starts Tuesday at 10:00 PM MST. The Utah Jazz are in a very interesting situation as free agency rolls around this year. The salary cap this year was $63,065,000 and in 2017 the salary cap is projected to rise to $108 million. Due to this 70-plus percent increase, we are going to see a lot […]

I sat down and dug in deep to see who Trey Lyles is.  I look at his childhood, high school career, stats, weaknesses, fit with the Jazz and his NBA player comparisons.
The NBA draft came and went without much happening.  Very few picks, and fewer rotation players were traded on that Thursday night.  The Jazz tried to trade up to get Justise Winslow, but it didn’t work out as Charlotte was asking an absurd price to trade their pick.  Fans were upset they didn’t trade up, […]

The guys at Most Valuable Podcast asked writers from each team to participate in a two round mock draft.  I was asked to select for the Utah Jazz. In this mock draft, the Utah Jazz made out like bandits!  Here is my analysis on the selections I made. With the 12th pick in the 2015 […]

This years Draft Class is chuck full of different types of swing-men.  I really believe the Jazz should look hard at a number of players that fit this bill.
For NBA fans this is time of year is the culmination of a great season.  Conference Finals have just kicked off.  In the Western Conference You have the #2 seed the Houston Rockets Versus the #1 seed Golden State Warriors. ...

Could the Utah Jazz make the playoffs?  Sure.  Is it very likely? Nope.  I took a look at what has to happen for the Jazz to make the playoffs.
The Utah Jazz have been playing wonderful basketball as of late, and some fans are asking if they could still make the playoffs.  So, let’s take a look at what would have to happen for the Jazz to make the playoffs. There are four teams that could land in the eighth playoff spot.  Oklahoma City, […]

The phrase "Core Four" has died off lately.  That's because the real core of the Jazz is the Big 3.  I took a look at how special the core of this team really is, and why the Jazz could have one of the elite foundations in the NBA.
Who is the core of this Utah Jazz team?  For seasons everyone heard the oft used phrase “The Core Four” that referred to Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks, Derrick Favors, and Enes Kanter.  That group was the future of the Utah Jazz.  The Jazz then continued to add additional young guys in Trey Burke, Dante Exum, […]
