Quick Three-Step Social Media Strategy for PR Professionals.
There are a lot of social media platforms. So, each one has it’s own special place in the world of public relations. Also, new social media platforms are constantly making us wonder what we are supposed to do with all these different social media profiles. Thus, I have developed a simple three step process for marketing your PR services on any social media platform.
1. Figure out what they want you to do. The clues are available everywhere. If the interface doesn’t let you do something, they don’t want you to do that. If the interface makes it easy to do something, then that’s what you are supposed to be doing. But, here is the fun part. Once you figure out what they want you to do, you can perfect that activity. Then, you can use it to connect with people who need a PR person.
2. Find the leads. After you figure out what they want you to do, you have to start looking for leads. This starts with things like Facebook friends, or LinkedIn connections. But, at one point, you are going to have to actually look through profiles to see if they need a PR person.
3. Constantly improve your process. You should constantly be rethinking and reworking your strategy. For most PR professionals that would involve adding my profile to your Google+ circles. I am constantly publishing tips on how to improve the effectiveness of your posts, comments, and connection requests. So, you should follow me before you navigate away from this post. Also, it can’t hurt to give my article a +1 and a comment. I’m the thumbs up guy.
