1.6.1 Beta was just uploaded.  I'm not expecting it to stay in beta for too long.  It is mostly minor changes

-Added "default" on queue completion setting.  When the queue only contains 1 track, it'll act as "Play Next File", otherwise it acts as "Stop"
-Embedded lyrics view will now update when the track changes (only when opened from now playing)
-Previous track will now loop back to the end of the queue if On Queue Completion is set to Loop Queue, Default, or Stop
-Fixed "Backup failed.  Music source is null" error when backing up stats
-Added option to set default song rating when no rating is found in the tags (Prefs -> Scanner -> Default Rating)
-Added "Toggle Split View" to Prefs -> Now Playing -> Enabled Menu Options.  It is off by default and only available to devices that support split mode
-Chromecast volume can now be adjusted using Menu -> Volume in Now Playing
-Security fixes
-Close out old External DSP sessions before creating new ones (should improve external dsp reliability)
-Widget album art is now downsampled to fit the screen resolution if its too large
-Slighty reduced the chance of repeats when playing random albums
-Fixed other various crashes
-Updated translations

pushing another minor update with some critical Android L fixes and google analytics was accidentially off by default so that was switched to being on by default

Has anyone made any Kitkat flavoured themes? Lots of Holo like ones - or maybe an early material design flavour? :)

Not underestimating at all - which is why I said "flavour".  I guess more Kitkat flavoured would be nicer.  Not that it overly matters :)

Sorry if my english is too bad...
Well there is option to scan cue files right? When I try to add all songs to playlist, player adds all songs from cue-sheet as well as source of sheet(cd-image).

I just started alpha testing 1.6 so if things work correctly with my main test devices ill have it moved to beta tomorrow. Chromecast support wont be 100 percent perfect but i think i covered most of the common cases

I have a very weird issue. When I play songs from GoneMAD music player, my notifications don't sound, Spotify & YouTube don't play sound. But when I kill GoneMAD it works fine.

OK. Seems like an issue with Viper4Android then, let's see if reinstalling fixes that up.

For some reason, my .m4a files no longer play.. I sent in a error log, but it's odd, as they worked a day or two ago. I can confirm that they work in other players as well.

CM11 on the GS3 is not very stable.  m4a playback is done via opensl and CM must have broken opensl when you updated it

With the latest update skipping tracks using my car remote when the phone is connected via Bluetooth does no longer work. I can no longer skip forward or backward and I cannot pause using the car remote. Using the soft keys of the phone works correctly.
Further, changing the tags on the car radio display does still not work when skipping tracks manually. Could you please check this problem since your first workaround worked perfectly on my Galaxy S3 but in the last versions it does no longer work .

Any ideas as to why some songs in my library show up with lengths that are about twice as long as they are supposed to be?

To clarify, mp3tag just like gmmp only does a quick scan for song info. It only scans the beginning of the file (and maybe the first frame) so its super performant. Things like foobar usually do deep scans of files to read each frame header to determine the true song properties if the track was encoded poorly. Gmmp uses taglib to read files so its at the liberty of that library on how it scans.

Hi
I'm using Gmmp as my car media player on my nexus 7 with 1tb OTG Hard drive attached.

Occasionally, the hard drive is not detected on startup. This seems to result in my media library being reset (to empty).
It takes about 2 hours to scan the entire library and I'm unable to complete it on my short (20 min) drive to work each day.

Is there a setting that will keep the database from resetting once scanned, but also rescan on disk connect, on schedule and on boot? I do want missing files to be removed too, but I'm happy if that occurs as a background task (perhaps during the scheduled rescans).

Im asking cos I keep losing the db when the hdd disconnects or doesn't startup properly 😕

Thanks.

A glitch in the matrix...
Pasted the command into tasker again (just for fun)... and it worked!! 😃
The string was identical to the string it replaced, so I have no idea why it worked this time... perhaps some non printing characters were different shrug.

Glad to have it working.
Thanks both for your help! 😊

Feature Requests  -

Can I rate song just by clicking on particular star in "Now Playing" screen? Because clicking on star, then selecting rating, then clicking OK is just toooo looong, so in most cases I skip that process because I don't have time or too lazy...

The update to ffmpeg 2.2.2 introduced a pretty bad bug with mp3 decoding so i patched that up and pushed another update.

1.6.0.b3 (06/20/14):
-Fixed MP3 decode error breaking gapless playback
-Updated translations

sigh.. unfortunately the ffmpeg/opus update is causing tons of playback issues with some of the other file types (corrupted sound / static), so these changes are going to be reverted.  Honestly the change wont really have any noticeable effect, so its nothing to worry about.

GMMP 1.6 final will be out soon!

I found a cool trick you can do with the feature to change the text on the different tabs: insert emojis and you can have everything at a glance.
See screenshot as an example.

Sir, have you removed musixmatch plugin integration?
2. Why isn't there any white theme for the app

Nope. Musixmatch is still there. There are no white skins because skins take a lot of time to make and i just never made one

Always Keep Device Awake

GMMP seems very sleepy, very very tired. I think all my long prog tunes are wearing the poor guy out.

I have "Always Keep Device Awake" enabled, on the assumption that this means I shouldn't see the device sleep - I like to keep the display of whats playing on screen all the time ( when the app is foregrounded anyway ) - mostly when I'm at the gym and it's handy seeing how far thru a track I am.

Is my assumption of what this feature should be doing wrong, or GMMP just broken here?
