Illuminate has developed a text to speech feature for Illuminate Itembank online assessments.

You can enable the text to speech option under Online Testing - Tool Settings. Check out the help doc to learn how to enable this feature for your students.

Please note that this feature only works for Itembank assessments, this does not include Hybrid Assessments.

Microsoft Policy on Internet Explorer (from Illuminate)

Important Notice
As many users are aware, Microsoft issued an announcement that they would only support the latest version of Internet Explorer on all of its legacy Windows operating systems starting January 12, 2016. Microsoft recommends all users upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer for their operating system or users will have increased exposure to data and security issues. For more information on Microsoft's Internet Explorer support strategy, visit Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Lifecycle page. 

Why is this important for Illuminate users?
We have determined that approximately 12% of Illuminate users utilize Internet Explorer. Please read below to find out how this impacts users in your district using Internet Explorer.

Users on Windows 10:
Windows 10 users who are using the Microsoft Edge browser are not affected.

Users on Windows 7 or 8.1:
After analyzing the last several months of user data, we have determined that over 96% of Illuminators who are using Internet Explorer are on either the Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system. For both of these operating systems, Microsoft will only be supporting Internet Explorer 11. Users who are on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 will need upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 for full support. 

Users on a Windows Operating System Older than Windows 7:
Currently less than 2% of Illuminators are using a Windows operating system older than Windows 7. For these users, we highly recommend upgrading to at least Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11 to reduce the risk of a security breach associated with using a Microsoft non-supported operating system. 

Supporting Internet Explorer in Illuminate: 
As a result of Microsoft’s policy, after March 31st, 2016 Illuminate Education will only be supporting Internet Explorer 11 and we highly recommend that all users upgrade to at least Internet Explorer 11. For users who are unable to update to Internet Explorer 11, we suggest using Chrome, Firefox, or another supported browser. 
  
Focusing on Internet Explorer 11, along with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers will allow us to take advantage of modern web development practices to deliver a better user experience while with reducing the risk of a security breach.

If you ever have issues logging into Illuminate because the login asks you to input a series of numbers and/or characters, try clearing your browser cache.

GradeCam Scanning Issue Update:

During an Illuminate DnA state user group conference call today, our implementation manager clarified that GradeCam has been giving users problems with scanning as of late. GradeCam is a separate program that Illuminate uses for scanning purposes. GadeCam reported they recently had server issues. GradeCam pinged their servers to pinpoint the issue and NOW HAVE A LONG-TERM SOLUTION IN PLACE.
