[Announcement] Enrollment is open for Designers for Learning's brand new instructional evaluation service-learning course! This free 6-week course will run March 20 - April 30, 2017 on Canvas Network: https://www.canvas.net/browse/designersforlearning/courses/instructional-evaluation

What is different in this new service-learning experience?

Building from our previous service-learning projects, this developmental evaluation course focuses on instructional evaluation, as well as the adaptation and redesign of our existing roster of open educational resources for adult basic education. This project-based experience is perfect for those who want to gain real-world instructional design experience while supporting a good cause, but would like a shorter 6-week time commitment.

Please help us spread the news by sharing this enrollment information with other interested colleagues and your students! Thank you.

Designers for Learning makes an impact by supporting underserved adult learners with low literacy and math skills. We facilitate service projects focused on adult basic education curriculum design and professional development. In 2016, over 3,500 people enrolled in our free open adult basic education service-learning courses to gain instructional design experience and develop free open educational resources tailored to the unique needs of adult learners.

Join us to make an impact on #GivingTuesday.

Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a world-wide movement that brings people together around the values of service and giving back. Please join our effort to impact adult basic education by donating to support our work, volunteering or enrolling in our future projects, and sharing this email with your network of friends, students, and colleagues. Registration is now open! Join +Designers for Learning on Saturday, November 12th for #EdImpact16, a 12-hour webcast-athon with an amazing roster of featured speakers: http://designersforlearning.org/edimpact16

Our featured speakers will lead us through a day long discussion about educational impact (past successes, current initiatives, and needed innovations). As a service-learning organization, Designers for Learning's objective for this event that coincides with our fall fundraising campaign is to spend the day exploring one important question, "What impact will you make?"

At the top of each hour during this 12-hour event, we will introduce the next scheduled speaker for a Question & Answer (Q&A) discussion with one of our webcast hosts. Our invited speakers will share their perspectives on educational impact related to their individual passions and expertise. This informal Q&A discussion format will give our speakers the opportunity to describe their role within the educational landscape, and how they feel their work has made, or seeks to make, an impact. Following each speaker session, we will open up the webcast for you as an audience member to engage in an open discussion until our next speaker begins.

Our aim for the Education Impact Day webcast-athon is 12 hours of thought-provoking discussion from professionals in the field of education, and promises to be an engaging experience for all of us to share our passions and efforts to make an impact in teaching and learning. Please join us, and follow the webcast-athon on social media under the #EdImpact16 hashtag.
