I just watched the "Power Level" episode of Pet Battles.  It was interesting to see the Vale before it was devastated by Garrosh's over-vaunting ambition. I just started playing WoW again in December. I have been playing Wow since the beginning, but I was not impressed with the Beta of Pandaria and gave up for a while. The whole Pet Battle addition was a fun surprise... (I didn't realize how engaging the "Game within the Game" could be.)

But I did miss seeing the Vale in its original unblemished form.

Review of DAH and RD Team -  Been having lots of funs with this team DAH (S/S); RD (H/S); Emperor Crab (H/H; 2,2,1).  12 wins vs 3 losses that included a "boredom" quit after fighting a crawdad team.  DAH is real fun when it works but a bit underpowered on damage.  It lost two times to other snakes with Vicious Fang and Burrow.  RD is a true tank especially if you bubble at the right time.  EC is a great third wheel for this team. Trying a crawdad for third wheel with the strategy of opening with DAH till 40% health, switching to crawdad using tranquility and wish, then back to DAH

You're my favorite person for writing up your thoughts on the team :) Thanks for sharing! I'm glad you're enjoying the ruby droplet!

I feel about the same on DAH, but havent tried EC with it yet. Will have to try that in the roster soon!

I was leveling my Death Adder (got a friend to buy one for me!) and Ruby Droplet yesterday, and went through some tamers. Fighting the Flowing Pandaren, I noticed that my Chi-Chi soloed it with no stress. Though repeating the feat today, the tidal waves killed my level  14 toothy when I had 1 round left. A crit whirlpool made me lose my flying passive. Atleast got my Tolai Hare Pup (S/S) the last 500 exp...

Since you want to probably want to start the tournament as soon as possible, I believe the question would be, what pets can use sucesfully in multiple battles, and as such save slots?

You need to fight pet battles. Normal balancing would require 21 pets. When I had less optimal pets to use from, I used Tranquil Mechanical Yeti on Zao, lightning storm+ion cannon to kill him, then reused him for Xu-Fu. Another thing worth noting is that again Yu-la I often never have to use my Kun-Lai runt, thus effectively "saving" one pet.

Alright got my Ruby Droplet B/B, had to grind up some old raid pets to get the gold for one...paid 6100g and that was at 66% of the normal price according to auctioneer.  So now I will power level him up thinking of changing it up and doing it over by Kafi as there are several pets in that zone that I don't have rares for yet.

+Daniel Nordstrom I recommend using a pet with Minefield in your leveling team.  I played around in that area for a while, and found that If I started with minefield, then Missile'd the first pet to death, about 80% of the time the minefield would 1-shot the next pet.   I DO NOT recommend trying to power level against the Forest Grubs in Krasarang Wilds....found out the hard way that they spam that ability that doesn't let you pet-swap for 5 rounds...  :-/

I... Just killed Garnia a few moments ago. Lucky me, I got a Ruby Droplet from it too! H/P breed as I wanted too. Just been camping it on and off the last few days.

Don't lose hope if you do the same, believe in the RNG Goddess!

I camped Garnia for about 2 months on multiple characters, after I got it, left the area and haven't been back.

I ran into this hyper-troll team today. Two pets with Wish and a Sunny Day healer pet.

It won't kill you, but it'll make you surrender after 30+ boring minutes.

btw, this team is f***ing awesome, never lost a single pvp battle with it.
I also was against a team with 2 unborn val'kyr's and a 2-1-2 Anubi idol... strange team...

So I have been getting back into pet battling again and I have a question for all of you out there. I am sticking with my Ethereal Soul Trader as my team captain and to work with him I have a Sprite Darter Hatchling. Right now (I'm still leveling them) I begin fights with the Hatchling who casts Moonfire for the buff to magic attacks. Then I swap in the Trader who pounds on the enemy pet with its magic based attacks. This works quite well at the level 13 my guys are at right now.

My question is do you have any suggestions on a third pet for this team? I am looking for something that could offer another type of buff for the Trader and hopefully be something other than a Magic or Dragonkin pet (for the diversity). Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The Rays are good too. You'll get bonus damage from moonlight and their attacks are so diverse that you are bound to have a strong attack against almost anything you are facing.

Been laying of my pet battles, especially the PvP ones. I'm more of a collector really. I'm curious how you think the Son of Animus would work though, the Siphon Anima and Extra Plating makes it really tanky. Defeated a wild team of 3 beasts in Kun'Lai on level 17 alone while leveling it.

Yep :)  I like doing the tamer dailies too.  I've found that not only do you come away with a bit of gold and valor points, but sometimes you get one of the pandaren spirits or one of the pandas from Beast of Fable, and you can sell those anywhere from 1k to 4k on the AH depending on the current market.

Speaking of Farming stones.  If you really do those daily and get
3 of a family you don't need (not to many human pets out there) don't forget about 3 family + 1 marketed for any family.  I've been saving all my stones for the next expansion, but I've already gotten about 28 (between all the families)  and I only really farm on the weekends.  I have it down to leveling 2 pets 1 - 25 per dailies route and BoF, plus I can usually get another pet kind of started or finished up too.

Have to say that this is still by far the best way to farm stones.  I've spent 6 hours today and have gotten no stones from pet battles, but I got 4 from the Tamers, plus two pandaren spirits I can sell on the AH.

Alright, I need your stone-farming secrets :) I'm looking to get a Beast family stone for my Death Adder Hatchling. What's your preferred way of farming that stone?

Spent about 16 hours over the past two days leveling pets.  Didn't get any stones the first day, but the second day got one Aqua stone off of water striders during the first 6 hours, and then later, in the space of one hour, got two Flawless Battle-Stones off of those same striders.....  Guess that makes up for the wash on day 1.

[16:53:56] [Pet Battle]: Round 15
[16:53:58] [Pet Battle]: [Burn] dealt 347 damage to your Unborn Val'kyr.
[16:54:01] [Pet Battle]: [Haunt] applied [Haunt] to enemy Gregarious Grell.
[16:54:02] [Pet Battle]: [Haunt] dealt 343 damage to your Unborn Val'kyr.
[16:54:02] [Pet Battle]: Your Unborn Val'kyr died.
[16:54:05] [Pet Battle]: [Haunt] dealt 225 damage to enemy Gregarious Grell (Strong).
[16:54:05] [Pet Battle]: Enemy Gregarious Grell died.
[16:54:07] [Pet Battle]: [Haunt] fades from enemy Gregarious Grell.
[16:54:07] [Pet Battle]: [Haunt] healed 343 damage from your Unborn Val'kyr.
[16:54:08] [Pet Battle]: Round 15
[16:54:08] [Pet Battle]: Corefire Imp is now enemy active pet.
[16:54:16] [Pet Battle]: Round 16

Unborn val'kry haunts and enemy target, kills it and revives in the same turn, i sometimes win by doing this to avoid slow enemies attacks XD

I hadn't thought of using haunt for dmg avoidance like burrow, lift off, or block, but that seems like a good idea if the pieces fall together to pull it off. Will have to try it.
