While I think the upcoming generation (including the Wii U) is probably the last of the big console rollouts, I generally agree with this assessment that the new technologies like smart TV and tablets aren't ready to take over a majority share of the gaming market.

This was maybe the biggest news out of CES: the Roku-Time Warner deal.  Basically it was cable service in an app. I asked a senior Dish executive about it and he couldn't understand why Time Warner would do this deal. I think it basically allows TW to partially get out of the set top business, at least for second rooms.  It will be interesting to see if any other cable providers follow suit.
