As you can see from the diagram below I have been working with two musical issues, supervenience and simplicity. Turning back to some fractal music I wrote last year I realised that upper levels are clearly determined by lower level properties. What I would like to ask is in fractal art do the upper levels arise automatically from the lower or is there a level where one superimposes a degree of information to make the geometric patterns more complex?
Time is clearly of utmost importance in music, and time requires change.
At which level do fractal artists build in ordered change, and are some changes superimposed on the structure? Clearly one can focus on many levels which simulates time / change but there are also animated art works.
Please excuse my ignorance on the topic, but I am willing to display it to learn!
