I created a cluster on a single PC on Windows 10.

Followed the instructions on http://www.mastertheboss.com/jboss-server/jboss-cluster/clustering-jboss-as-7 but using WildFly.

Then I created a simple app with one JSP saying "Node 1" and one servelet saying "Servlet 1", exported it to WAR, renamed them to display "2" and exported WAR again. These I deployed to the two instances.

Now, when I open the JSP or the servelet via Apache it always shows "Node 1" unless I shut down that node, only then does it show "Node 2".

I tried opening the page from 4 different PC's.
Shouldn't it show "Node 2" for half the requests? Or is a cluster not a load balancer, only a failover?

Hi guys, I'm searching for any simple way how to work with REST WADL, is there any way how to display it? This feature is very useful, but, I'm affraid, still missing.
BTW: I'm going to use this feature in combination with WF Swarm ...
Thanks for ideas ...

Hi Lukáš,

If you can use "spring framework", is a good option clean and easy way to do.

Try use "spring securtity" both to secure your application.

Simple REST tutorial.

Hi guys. I just went through the binaries of JBoss AS-7.20 and found around 320+ jar files (dependencies) in the binaries. Can anyone provide me with the license conditions and copyrights for jar files so that evaluation of the component could be done? I am not able to attach the list of jar files here.

Thanks for the reply. Can I consider that all dependencies are licensed under LGPL V2.1 license? Do you specifically know the compatible licenses for these dependencies?

Here is a new blog post describing how to use WildFly Elytron to configure SSL for both listeners exposed using Undertow and for the HTTP management interface (including domain mode).

Hi Community,

Using WildFly 8.2.0

The logging subsystem is powerful and I like the possibility to view logs and manipulate log levels via Management UI and CLI.

Have done some trials/samples using java.util.logging and jboss.logging API and without any additional configuration these logs are "managed" by the logging system. But if I use log4j it seems that I need to do additional configuration. (and to add log4j api and core to the deployment)

We are currently using Log4J 2 and if possible we would like to continue with that if we still can utilize the features of the management UI (incl. change of log levels during run-time).

Any advice?

BR

Lars

Hi is there any reason why a singleton with annotations startup and postconstruct does'nt start in a WAR (but starts in a EAR) ?

import javax.annotation.PostConstruct;
import javax.ejb.Singleton;
import javax.ejb.Startup;

/**

@Singleton
@Startup
public class HelloService {

@PostConstruct
public void init() {
System.out.println("hello");
}
}

Hi Konala,

Normally the deployment from 7 to 10 should not change. Have u checked if the declaration of db2 jar for JDBC is inside modules folder ?
Do u have an error in your server log ? If yes show me that part.

Anyone have any idea on when 10.1.0 will be released?  I am very interested in a few of the bug fixes it includes.

You can! I did this. Here is the recipe:
1 - Your application must have NO configuration file for Log, like a lo4j.properties;
2 - You application must declare an appender, like Logger.getLogger;
3 - You must configure a Log Category within WildFly web console and a Handler to be used by this Log Category; The LogCategory must have the same name as it is declared as argument for Logger.getLogger.

After that you are good.

I am using Wildfly 8.1 Final for a long time and trying to find a concrete implementation of Authentication and Authorization with groups and Roles using Active Directory or LDAP 🎵but still haven't found what I am looking for.

There is no good example for a complete integration with ldap.:( Well, at least so far.

Hi,

On WildFly 8.2.0

I would like to authenticate our users using LDAP, but to have the roles in our local DB. Have seen it mentioned in some old posting, but never seen some real working example. Is it possible and is somebody doing this and can share some insight?

Thanks

/Lars
