Places people don't often go in tour groups abound in Japan. Just step off the beaten track and you will discover wonders. Today I share some hiking in Mount Nokogiriyama, where there are some remarkable views and Buddhist statues.

If you enjoy Tokyo, you'll enjoy Odaiba. Its wide open, removed, and has beautiful views. Plus...a giant robot.

Though removed from the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo, the Edo Tokyo Outdoor Museum is well worth a visit. Come in the morning when its quiet and wander the many structures preserved from different eras of Japan's history. The famed director Hayao Miyazaki came here regularly for inspiration, and I wanted to share my own experiences while here.
