I made a BBQ chicken pizza on a slice of sandwich bread and I had a spring mix salad with tofu cubes and aged Chardonnay in a salsa bowl on the side. A slice of pizza on sandwich bread has less than half of the calories in a normal pizza slice and using bread slices and small containers helps to keep portion sizes in control. Salads should be more common side dishes and appetizers for pizzarias, which should offer personal pizzas more often, because they are filling and low in calories; especially when little or no dressing is used. When I was little, Pizza Huts had salad bars.

Of course, the more active or muscular one is, his/her metabolism is increased and requires more energy.

Red radishes are very low in calories as each bulb has between 1-2 Kcalories. I like to quarter mine and boil them due to my sensitive teeth.

During the fasting of Holy Week, meat and poultry are not to be eaten; so I made mushroom pizzas from sandwich bread with salad on the side. Each of the pizzas have less than 200 calories, let alone 240 calories that are found in single pizza slices from pizzerias, so they really do help keep my cravings in check without consuming 1200 calories per meal. I usually add cubed cheese on my salads, but I had none; so I cut some silken-firm tofu into cubes and drizzled Pinot Gregio on top.

At tonight's fish fry, I made pineapple-papaya salsa with lime juice and cilantro after I added a medium sized onion and a bell pepper. It would be a good side dish or topping for many savory meals like meat, fish, and poultry due to its sweetness; especially fajitas, hot dogs, and burgers.

I made pizzas from a quartered loaf of French bread a few nights ago and I think that a bowl of salad would be a good side dish. I am thinking about making personal pizzas from flatbread in the future.

Roasted zucchini or yellow squash is a good and healthy alternative to fried potato wedges or chips; especially when it is coated in Parmesan cheese. I never liked zucchini; so I would personally prefer yellow squash.

I made pepper jack cheese from scratch tonight from a 1 1/4 gallon of sour milk. You need to let the milk sour in order to curdle, but you could add an accelerant like vinegar if you like. I added salt, ground black pepper, chives, parsley, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes to the curds.´╗┐

It could be a great filling for stuffed peppers or stuffed zucchini. It could also be a good dip or spread for crackers or vegetable slices like yellow squash or eggplant in addition to making a pizza topping.

Drinking at least a liter or two of water before eating helps to fill your stomach, which means that you will eat less and because water is free of calories and other nutrients, you will not gain any nutrients unless you flavor it with fruit, which I would highly recommend in order to reduce consuming soft drinks, which have anywhere between 140-220 calories per 12 fluid ounces.

The following images will give examples of such favors:

Carambola (star fruit)
Lychee
Peach Palm
Passion Fruit
Pomegranate
Grapefruit-Orange
Lemon-Lime
Cantaloupe
Watermelon
Mixed Berries
Grape
Pineapple
Pear
Apple

Kappa maki is a very simple sushi roll, which consists of nori, rice, and cucumber sticks. It is good as a snack or appetizer; especially for vegans.

Fall is the time for fairs, which are congregation areas for deep fried foods of every variety. Of course a healthy diet has to have some variety in it and I like funnel cakes and corn dogs on windy autumn days, but many fair concoctions are ridiculously unhealthy; so any alternative suggestions are welcomed.
