I'm having trouble getting event server to work over an ssh connection. I'm using yaste the Android remote client and using port forwards through connectbot. In connectbot I have port 127.0.0.1:2900 forwarded to SERVER:80 and that connects to the webserver no problem but my other port forward from 127.0.0.1:2901 to SERVER:9777 doesn't find the event server correctly, its not a router issue because the ports are forwarded through an ssh tunnel inside my home network via connectbot. Has anyone experienced anything similar? The event server is found automatically over my home wifi and works ok so is definitely running on port 9777.

Yes absolutely sure. Yatse finds the event server no problem when I'm in my wifi network. After a bit more digging I think it has something to do with TCP/UDP traffic, apparently local port forwards over SSH can only forward TCP traffic and the event server listens on UDP port 9777. I believe there is a way for a client to convert UDP traffic to a TCP port and then forward it to a server which can then return it to UDP but it all looks a bit complex and I doubt it is possible from an Android client on the grounds that its missing most of the GNU utils that a linux machine would have. I'm speculating mostly here but I think I'll just chalk this one up to a dead end.

Kodi 15.0 isengard beta 2 is here! better and smoother!!
http://kodi.tv/kodi-15-0-isengard-beta-2/
Here it is, the second beta build for Kodi 15.0; freshly baked and ready to be served! A little later than originally planned though, which we'll explain later. Although we said that Kodi 15.0 a “clean-up” edition, we still managed to squeeze in a couple of really nice features.

This version is horrible. 14.2 is much smoother playback and faster indexing.

Start fresh, reload kodi and addons. But only load what you need. Find the individual zip files online for each addon. It's the cleanest install and less bugs. Worth the extra time and effort.

Ok this may sound amateur but I have setup a true dual boot chrombook with Ubuntu 12.04 lts. This is for a friend.. So my problem is that I can get hdmi out on Ubuntu but not on kodi. I purged pulse audio and reinstalled it and it seems to be working. I hear sound but no video and I just blank with it. Anyone have any idea? Or a step in the right direction?

I have also had this problem and depending on which hdmi input is used to connect the laptop has to be mapped in Kodi/System/Settings/System/Audio. I travel and depending on the hotel the HDMI input could change on me. Keep in mind if you reroute audio thru other port you may need to adjust the default output on the OS also to match whichever HDMI interface has been chosen within Kodi.

I am still using Gotham (Win7) to play videos over the network from my main PC (SMB). From the first version of Kodi on I encountered several problems thus I went back to Gotham. Kodi is significantly slower and the checkmarks for viewed content in the thumbnail-view are shown in the wrong place, somewhere in the row beneath. (using re-touched) Isengard still produces that problem. On my main system (Win8.1) everything  is fine. I would be happily using Gotham but it has its own problems, being very unstable and often crashing when trying to start playback. Any ideas?

Yeah I know, but I wonder what exactly is causing this. But I have ordered a Fire TV Stick now to run Kodi on it and will free the notebook from it's function as a mediaplayer anyway...

Does anyone know if there's a permanent solution to this issue. Kodi web interface under the TV Shows, each show displays a poster but it's stretched to banner ratio and is all distored. They all have banners but the poster shows instead. If I change to poster view then it goes back as it should but resets every time I leave the web interface and return.

After setting up MySQL with Kodi, I fully believe Kodi needs some sort of backend software similar to plex

Is there an addon similar to the subtitle service that will actually download an alternate audio track? For example, I have the movie Indochine, which I picked up in Montreal. It's in French and has English subs, but no dubbed version and I don't always want to have to read.

You would also have issues syncing the audio and video tracks.

I have an Android TV box that shipped with Kodi 14.1 and also has an IR remote.  I would like to use the media controls (Play/Pause/ff etc) on my Logitech Harmony remote to control Kodi media.  Is there a plugin for Kodi that will allow me to do this?  Alternately, is there an android app that would work for this?  Thanks!

Note: I can use my logitech remote for the buttons that the media player remote has, but it does not have any media buttons, just up/down/left/right/ok etc and a fake (not air) mouse mode.

it works so smooth on all my devices. Nexus 7, Galaxy S6 en yesterday i got my Nexus player en works super on that as wel! Keep up the good work!
is it an idea to place an ''add to favourites'' button next to a title? the Nexus Player doesn't have a menu button to get the extra options. i had to use my phone with the Kodi remote app to add series etc to my favourites :P

Hi everybody, I have kind of a newbie question.
I'm running KODI on a raspberry pi 2 using a mysql database on my Synology NAS, accessing the files via NFS. This works great! Now I wanted to install KODI (same version) on my Win 8.1 machine and access the same database.
As I learned NFS is not integrated in Windows 8 Professional :-(.
If I now change my sources.xml and my advancedsettings.xml on my windows machine using windows network paths (\ instead of /), will this still work or will it mess up the database?

From a developers perspective, is there any way to update the dateadded attribute of a movie or episode from within an addon?

I did find this bug-report
http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/15755
and it would be nice to have it in the api.
But as of now, it is not...
...So is there any other way?

I thought about direct database access but this would be a pain to implement and isn't the way it should be done :/

Hope someone got an idea :)
