Early 1900's RR Depot in Kenwood Ca. Narrow gauge line of Northern Pacific. Compare it to the Redwood on the right and you can get a hint of its age.

After careful internet review I have taken Simply PHotography from 15+ members back down to 11 so there is a lot of room to grow and we are still looking for charter Members. Running down spam accounts was the reason for the deletions. http://glenellenphotography.com/fp

6 members on Simply Photography and we are looking for another knowledgeable photographer to write an article or two on the Blog that is adjoining the forum. Yes, there is a blog, the forum and a gallery all for free to Charter Members. The Blog, however, is for the more experienced photographers to write articles on photography and own the article with name and website and/or business. Call it free advertising if you will.

What I am doing is developing an all encompassing site where photography is the word of the day and that may become a central landing point for other photographers. If you're up for it then come aboard. Charter Members have their own space ont he forum that is visible only to them and moderators. If you know photography there is that Blog to use and a gallery for your use also should you want it. It is all on my dime and I would love to have you join up and lend your expertise to all those who aspire to be better photographers. We are up and running and doing quite well after a ton of effort and agreement on the direction this site will take. I am lining it out a bit more as we go along and there are plans for growth and not just a little forum but an entire web enterprise.Yes, I know what I am doing. I have been developing websites since 1997 and this domain is at the top echelon of a commercial server at my hosting company. It is there waiting for really good photographers that want more of a web presence. Let's face it, a website is nice but an enterprise is better. Tony Crowe

Welcome new members! I'm busy developing my other websites and hope that you might take the time to join my forum, "Simply Photography" of which this community is a mirror. URL is: http://glenellenphotography.com/fp.

A great place to learn of photographies ins and outs concerning exposure and the interaction of camera and lens for the best exposure possible. Tony

After much thought while developing this forum, "Simply Photography" and starting to attract new members I initially started a "Charter Member" status for the first 30 new members. This status gives Charter Members their own board which only they can see. (but for Moderation) After the carter Membership is filled they and the moderation team will only see this board. The new members after that will see only the boards for the site itself and will have no access to the "CM" board.

I got to thinking that I could add one more perk to pique interest of new members and that would be to install a gallery for them to show their photos to the world. So, I did. I am announcing a piece of software already installed that is developed by "Piwigo" and it is there and waiting for population by new Charter Members.

It is my hope that those who see this no matter what your work is to take the time to check out the forum and take part in a new and upcoming place on the internet which will, of course, touch all the bases of photography, including film, but will also place an emphasis on the Image itself. Exposure and composition foremost. I have always been a stickler for exposure and that is best learned manually even with digital.

The web URL is: http://glenellenphotogrtaphy.com/fp. For those of you who are not familiar with Glen Ellen Photography it is my web presence since 1998 and has always been rated highly by its users and drop ins on the web. It has been a work of love since I started it and developed it so long ago.

It would be my pleasure to welcome you to the forum and have you participate at any level you feel comfortable with. Easy going and to the point is our mission. Three of us started this forum several years ago and decided to reinvent ourselves with a slightly different take on what  forum should be first and foremost. That is a place to learn to capture an image with or without auto everything. I am already covering the basics of the "Zone" system and there will be a lot more reference materials as we go. Please give us a try so that we can show you a place of fun and friendship while both us and, perhaps yourself, lending a hand in bringing others along in photography. Tony

I have put a new theme on "Simply Photography Forum". Take a look when you get a chance. Quite busy with the website developing now-a-days. Got deeper into it than I ever thought I would and the more I do the more I know so it seems now that it is never ending fun.

Still shooting with the lens that you see on this sites community logo. That is a 300mm f 4.5 Nikkor lens that I bought while in Japan around 1971. I have always taken good care of my equipment and the lens is pristine minus after traveling around most of the worked shooting photographs for myself and other interests over the years.

Thanks for joining and I do hope you will follow the link and join my Forum for an interesting take on the image rather than the equipment. I have drawn from my old film days to start discussions on the mythical film vs digital circular argument and I would love for you to register and become "Charter Members" no matter where in the world you call home. Language is not an issue.

http://glenellenphotography.com/fp........Hope you will join me there. Tony
