Times of strife are regularly used by governments to enact inflexible and intrusive legislation - looks like this time is one of those times.

Fascinating to hear big data, UAS (drones), wearables and life stories all mashed up together in one compelling presentation that will scare the heck out of some people who are fearful of robots yet perhaps quite compelling for those who can see the good in ridding humans of mundane tasking - Replaced by robots? The challenges and opportunities of automation for the workforce

Facebook buys Oculus VR - 'nuff said.

"...I had thought about leaving #glass at home because there will be obviously lots of young girls...."
So I'm taking my 7 year old daughter to the Father Daughter Dance at school on Saturday.  I had thought about leaving Glass at home because there will be obviously lots of young girls and their fathers there, and I could see some of them having a problem with "the camera" as it has been a controversy as of late.

But upon further thought, I have decided that events such as this one are the whole purpose behind the camera that's built in to Glass, and one of the main reasons I purchased it myself.  If I do not wear it, and don't take advantage of the opportunities to document these special events in the lives of my daughter and myself, I will regret it probably for the rest of my life.  It's not like I'm going to be taking pictures of other people's kids, come on, I'm capturing special moments with my daughter.

Obviously, if an official staff member asks me to remove Glass, I will, but otherwise, why should I worry what other people think?  I will use this opportunity to evangelize Glass and show the other dads what a great tool this is for recording memories.   I'm sure other dads will have their cell phones out taking pictures anyway, so I can just do this without holding a black monolith between my daughter and I.

I am more and more worried that Google is going Evil. Here is an old piece I wrote years ago: Is Google Evil? http://snglrty.co/16Esu1M
