The thin US visa cap which gets filled in a matter of weeks have disappointed many Indians every year planning to pursue a better life on American soil.

The US immigration bill might just be a game-changer. Well, there are lots of promises in store, some of them are

-The annual H1B Visas cap for highly skilled workers will be increased from 65,000 per year to 110,000 per year.
-A new startup visa for encouraging foreign entrepreneurs to start companies in USA
-The bill would provide a direct and immediate route to a green card for holders of master's and Ph.D. degrees from U.S. colleges in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Companies are willing to support foreign employees because they perform well and bring profit. Company growth brings about a prosperous economy to United States while Americans feel that it might lead to further offshoring of U.S. jobs.

Indian IT companies are worried as the proposals will increase visa expenses by three to five times. At present, an H1B visa costs $2,500

Whether this step would create a chance for a better lifestyle for the Indian middle-class or add to the never ending woe of Indian brain-drain is a matter of further debate.

Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history on Thursday.
In 2012, three California cities - Stockton, Mammoth Lakes and San Bernardino - took the step.
The Big Three car manufacturers- Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler- were the companies that helped drive the Michigan city to its glory days in the 1950s and 1960s.
Packard manufacturing plant, once producing luxury cars at the heart of Detroit's motor car industry is now in ruins.

While reviving the city may seem far fetched, what impact will it have on the global car industry????
