A learning environment (space, modality, time, etc.) with the most flexibilty, allows the most choices and therefore the greatest impact in a learning system. The math department is currently exploring an expanded use of space, time, and differentiated instruction. So far, the results appear positve.

Students from ASD biology classes presented their Beehive Engineering Projects this past week. This was a 3 week design thinking project where students built prototypes, tested those prototypes, then improved their designs based on feedback from the data and peers. They were solving the problems encountered by beekeepers in Qatar, namely dust and extreme heat.
