Here's a few options for capturing those great ideas you have in the shower...
For a long time I thought I was weird. Many of my more imaginative ideas happen when I'm in the shower or bathing the kids. Warm water and white noise seems to

Do you prefer pen and paper over digital systems for capturing ideas and actions? I've tried to go all digital a few times but it's hard to beat the speed and simplicity of the more traditional approach. But I didn't want to sacrifice the advantages of digital systems for storage and search.

I've tweaked and refined an approach over the last 6 years that works well for me. Some of my colleagues have also found value in this approach, so I've finally written it up in an ebook. "Supercharged Notes" discusses how to:
* stop dropping the ball on actions you're responsible for
* reduce the need to retype handwritten notes
* easily spot action items amongst other notes
* quickly find entries using both paper and digital systems
* painlessly move notes into digital tools so you can find and retrieve information of longer-term value

You can download a free copy by subscribing to my blog. If you sign up I'd love to hear your feedback about the approach.

How and why I declared Evernote bankruptcy --> http://goo.gl/iIOX2I
A few months ago, I came to a realization... I was starting to become an Evernote hoarder.  I was dumping notes into my Evernote account daily at an extremely high rate (often from numerous automation services like IFTTT).  Receipts, Amazon products, books I want to read, RSS feed articles, recipes, quotes I found inspirational at the time, grocery lists, vehicle records, furnace filter sizes, screenshots, etc., etc...  These are all ...

I love this quote by Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer (and if you click the link below you can see my other favorites as well) --> http://www.bobstanke.com/blog/2015/2/12/top-10-quotes-from-marissa-mayer-on-leadership-and-innovation
I have followed the career of Marissa Mayer since the mid-2000's when she was making her way up the ranks at Google, heading up numerous large, notable projects like Google Search, Maps, and Gmail, just to name a few.  To be honest, the interest in Mayer started when I discovered that she was born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin, the same city yours truly was born in and lived for a short time.  It is always great to hear about Minnesot...

5 Things About Working with a Virtual Assistant - Out of the Office Virtual Assistance

It's hard to believe that I've been a VA for almost 10 years. I love what I do and adore my clients. ♥ Having said that, there's a lot of folks out there who don't know what VAs can do, what we are (I swear, we're not all crazy cat-lady introverts .. that's just me), and how much more efficient a small business can run when you delegate and outsource the tasks that don't earn you revenue, or suck the life out of your and your business, or aren't an effective use of your time.

If you're curious (c'mon .. you know you want to peek) into how to work with a virtual partner, have a read of today's blog post.

Take a look at your to-do list, are there tasks on there that are taking away the time you should be using on your business? If so, it’s probably time to start looking for a virtual assistant. A vi...
