iPad mini users: we're giving away an X-Doria Dash Folio for iPad mini. It's a nice looking and very functional case, although the bright fluorescent greenish plastic iPad mini holder inside the leather case is a bit garish.

OK, we were able to get quite a few people in on the "TUAW TV" hangout today, although it was mainly an exercise in figuring out how to use this tool. Thanks to Doc Rock for providing some great tips, and to Mike Rose for providing access to this wonderful document with a lot of Google Hangout tips (see below).

Still a lot of work to do to figure out how to a) set up the Hangout On Air, b) schedule it here, c) make sure that we have the embed code for the show for people who just want to watch live and not participate, and d) use the tools to create an atmosphere that's a bit more "professional" in how everything is edited and displayed on-screen.

We may do a few more of these "practice runs" before going totally live with the TUAW TV on Google Hangouts On Air, but I think today was a good experiment and definitely a step in the right direction.

Oh, one added thing... It's possible to take output from Wirecast Pro -- the tool used for TUAW TV Live right now -- and feed it into Google Hangouts. That means that all of the tools I currently use for adding lower-third titles, playing videos, and grabbing items from my screen can still be used and pumped out to the Hangout. Coooooool.

The new Google+ app for iOS is fantastic. It is very well done and lots of new features. I love the fact that you can now save a photo from within a post. Previously you had to do that from Chrome. Communities feature is very useful. Kudos to the Google+ team for the excellent work! I would love to have your views.

I am thinking of picking up a thunderbolt dock to use with my late 2014 MBPr13.  Would be easier than connecting usb, thunderbolt video, and sound jacks all the time.
Looking at the model below.  Thoughts?
Amazon.com : Anker® USB 3.0 Dual Display Universal Docking Station with DVI/HDMI of up to 2048 x 1152, Audio, Gigabit Ethernet, and 6 USB ports (2 USB 3.0 + 4 USB 2.0) for Windows (19V / 2A Power Adapter included) - Black : Laptop Computer Docking Stations : Computers & Accessories

“‘The Woz’ built the first [personal computer]—by hand, himself.”—USA Today

A real life one-day experience, read how it felt for an Apple fanboy when he met Stephen Gary "Steve" Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Inc, who single-handedly invented both the Apple I and Apple II computers in the 1970s.

This short storybook is a detailed account of how Waseef Akhtar had a chance to meet and hang out with one of his hero "Woz", when he visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in February, 2013. He found this once-in-a-life-time opportunity such an incredible experience that he decided to document it in a book and share it with the world.

The book also includes a short private audio interview with Woz just prior to his TV interview.

You may have already heard about the patent Apple "Reinforced Device Housing", which refers to the use of carbon fiber for the body of the device, better known as carbon (carbon fiber).

While experts from Cupertino speculate wherever priladit one fashionable, lightweight and attractive material for iPhone 4/4S and 5, might already be available.
100% carbonfiber case for iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5 - elegant minimalism and intelligent design. Completely handmade.

Hey, TUAW fans. Due to a number of issues with Ustream and Skype on yesterday's episode of TUAW TV Live, we're going to try an experiment suggested by Doc Rock -- a Google Hangout On Air. I'm going to see if we can send out a scheduled talkcast announcement and embed this thing on the site for people who just want to watch.

If you've downloaded the new Google Maps for iOS, how is it working out for you? Noticeably better than Apple Maps, no difference, or a downgrade? Let's hear all about it.
