Im still waiting for my HDR TV
NBC is downsampling 8K to 4K for the Summer Olympics, but there's just one catch: it will be on a 24 hour delay.

+Brian Gottschalk Yeah i guess competition with the Fire TV and stick just got to be too much for Amazon. They used to support Google when they had a great app on Google TV. I have always had one and now my LG has a great app as well so the Shield that i have hooked up to it would only be used for Amazon if the app was light years better.

Here are some screenshots of Pluto TV App (this one from iOS). The iOS App seems have more channels than the tvOS version.

For those wondering, you can also use AirPlay with your iOS device and older (or newer) Apple TV to use Pluto TV.

I'm guessing the same kind of thing can be done with ChromeCast and your mobile device.

+james michael Hmm... That's strange. I've got some other lower-end Roku's like the Stick and LE that I could try Pluto. I've also got a Fire TV Stick.

Pluto TV is one of my favorite Apps for 'mindless' TV. Haystack is another of my favorites.

Hi Fellow Cord Cutters,
Thought you would appreciate a blog we wrote about Sling TV,  and how to access it from abroad.
Want to know how $20/mo can keep you from paying for cable and allow you to stream live cable channels on any device? Read how to access Sling TV anywhere.

I had gotten Sling chiefly for AMC (Walking Dead) and CNN.  I've since switched to Playstation Vue.  Sling has a much wider array of devices to view on but Playstation Vue supports more simultaneous streams and Sling seems to sometimes be flaky in transmission, especially during periods of high viewership of a channel (like The Walking Dead where I would have at least one hiccup almost every week).  I've only had Playstation Vue about a week but Walking Dead played flawlessly.  I'm hopeful they will expand to Android and Roku soon but if not I'll pick up another FireTV stick.

A new service providing content from Nerdist, Crunchyroll, Roosterteeth, and more. Very geek oriented, ad-free, but likely paid for. Does it interest you?
Ellation, a web video-focused startup funded by Otter Media, is planning to roll out a subscription video service this fall featuring exclusive content from digital media firms like Nerdist and Crunchyroll.

The CW Seed App is now available for the new Apple TV (tvOS).

I've been re-watching defunct but still the excellent, Almost Human, about two cops (human and android) in the future.

You can also watch originals like Vixen and Birds of Prey or other shows like The OC (See Ben McKenzie before he became James Gordon in Gotham).

The CW App is available for free without credentials on tvOS App Store for the new Apple TV. The App is also available for iOS, Roku, Android, Fire TV and other platforms.

I'd add them to my Roku and Apple TV once they are available.

i like that the stick is now faster (so it claims) and that it now has the "private listening" through your smartphone. i use the private listening jack on my Roku 3 all the time but this seems cooler cause now you dont need your remote to have it, just your smartphone. makes travelling much easier

If you're a Cord Cutter who wants a TV Guide grid of various internet channels, then you may like Pluto TV App and Website.

My favorite channels are the 4K TV (nice scenery), C|Net (technology news), AnimalLOLz (videos of animals) and POP Sugar (cooking and fitness).

Pluto TV is available for the new Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV and ChromeCast as well as iOS and Android Mobile Browsers.

+Ronald Long Thanks for sharing about Android TV. I've heard this version has good support. I hadn't heard about Late Night Last Night but I'll check it out.

I used to dabble in 'grey' areas when I used to download and stream content on my Apple TV 2. With so many legitimate options available for stream streaming, I don't use much any more.

Now where's the SlingTV App for Apple TV? I've got on all my Roku's and Fire TV Stick!

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world when it comes to streaming rights.

What a bizarre world we cord cutters live in. Curadh wanted to watch the Notre Dame game on his iPad and it let him, commercials and all.

But when he tried to cast the game to our Chromecast, it demanded TBS credentials before it would allow that to happen. The same show he was watching on his iPad couldn't be watched on the TV without a subscription.

It's not like this was a premium channel. You have to watch commercials on TBS. You'd think the advertisers would want more people to watch on their TVs.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world when it comes to streaming rights.
