I joined the Community to connect with others who actively engage with informal learning. I am doing some research on communities of practice in interpreting studies.

Inspired by the work of Jay Cross and others in this community, the AHFE conference will add a new "Informal Learning" session to its Training, Education and Learning Sciences (TELS) track for 2017.

I'm serving as the TELS chair this year and would like to submit an abstract for paper presentation or poster demonstration at the 8th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2017) and the Affiliated Conferences to be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, Los Angeles, California, USA July 17-21, 2017 (http://ahfe2017.org).

Peer-review accepted papers will be published in the AHFE 2017 proceedings and as chapters in Springer Multi-volume Edited Books under the prestigious series of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing. The proceedings are submitted to ISI, EI-Compendex, DBLP, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I've joined this community in an effort to gain more understanding about the ideas put forth by Jay Cross. Sad that I've just stumbled upon him, now that he is gone. I'm a marketing writer who works with training companies as well as learning development people, so I'm always trying to stay abreast of ideas in this community. I'm especially intrigued by the idea of non-regimented, learner-driven learning.

i joined this community to be an advocate of +Jay Cross ideas. I am also shocked by Jay's passing. I hope to contribute to our ways of learning and I also hope to follow in Jays footsteps.

I joined this community when I heard of the passing of Jay Cross. He said, "Like 'Teach a man to fish,' improving one’s capacity to learn pays compound interest for a lifetime." Together, we can make a difference and carry on his legacy.

RIP Jay. You are greatly missed...already.

Sad to learn of Jay's passing. Great man. Great life. Great conversations. Great contributions to his field. May we all endeavor to make our passion projects into our living and vice-versa. Jay, you will be missed.

Request for help. On the school of my children we are experimenting with setting up a personal learning platform. On the English Wikiversity I started a learning project to share information. Who would like to help me get this learning project started? Thanks.

Hi all, just a few weeks ago I found out about a new platform called part-up (www.part-up.com). I really like this platform because it's all about learning-by-doing. Hope you like it too!
