HBO just spoiled the biggest open secret of Game of Thrones by confirming Jon Snow's parentage. They released the following relationship chart, which clearly shows Rhaegar Targaryen as Jon's father. That coupled with deaf lip readers making out what Lyanna whispered to Ned in the Tower of Joy ("His name is Aerys" or "His name is Jaehaerys" ), and we now know that Jon Snow is actually either Aerys or Jaehaerys Targaryen III (most likely the latter).

+Gretchen this would make more sense. Seems awfully odd for either Rheagar or Lyanna to want to name him Aerys; neither holds a very high opinion of him. Jaehaerys would be an inspired choice.

Sunday’s Game of Thrones finale confirmed what fans have been theorizing for years: that Jon Snow’s real mom is Ned Stark’s sister, Lyanna Stark. It’s all happening, guys! H…

What does it actually matter that R+L=J???

Is it just that Jon can presumably ride a dragon in the upcoming war? or that now he can marry Dany & I guess reunite the North & South if Dany wins the Iron Throne?

+Anurag Pamuru YEAH I GET YOU I'M NOT SAYING THAT JON'S NAME IS MOTHERF*****G JAEHAERYS OR THAT ANYONE CAN OR WILL CLAIM THAT IT IS, ONLY THAT IT'S POSSIBLE THAT HOWLAND REED COULD HAVE SAID "HEY, WHO'S THAT BABY YOU GOT THERE?" AND NED COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "HE'S MY NEPHEW, HIS NAMES JAEHAERYS BUT I'M GONNA CALL HIM JON AND TELL EVERYONE HE'S MY SON SO THAT ROBERT WON'T KILL HIM, GO WITH IT" OR MAYBE NOT, I'M JUST POLITELY DISCUSSING POTENTIAL POSSIBILITIES OF A TELEVISION SHOW WITH OTHER PEOPLE. YAY CAPS LOCK, IT'S LIKE BILLY MAYS IS TYPING FOR ME

What was Margaery's Grand Plan?

Surely it wasn't just to trust the high sparrow to honor his word?

To save her brother. A deal was struck with The High Sparrow; convince Tommen to unite the crown and the faith - meaning that he gets all the power - to save Loras or let Loras die, and she would have to make her Walk of Atonement. I know the KL story lines can be hard to understand, but when I marathoned the season yesterday, somewhere around Blood of my Blood it struck me. All of it. Cersei's plan, Margaery's plan, The High Sparrow's plan. All of it made sense. That's when you know the writing's good. You look back on the season and you realize these types of things. My "evidence" for this is the very first scene with The High Sparrow and Margaery in the premiere actually. The first thing he says to her is something about Tommen, and how he wants them to be back together again. The second time, she's allowed to see Loras personally. The next time she's seemingly devout, and the High Sparrow and Tommen have a conversation about Margaery's supposed Walk of Atonement. The Walk of Atonement was never even meant to happen. Her hair wasn't shorn, her clothes not rags. There is a reason he told Tommen about The Walk. He told her knowing full well that he'd tell Cersei. So he tells Tommen, who tells Cersei and who then tells Olenna. A Tyrell army show up to prevent The Walk that was never going to happen anyway. She already atoned for her sins, he says. By bringing another into the true light of the seven – Tommen. And what happens next, when the union between the crown and the faith have been publicly forged? He makes Tommen get rid of Jaime. How does he do that you ask? Well, he did make threats to the faith, and the High Sparrow made sure that everyone heard it, so the crown and the faith are one now. He gets discharged from the Kingsguard and gets sent away with an army to make sure that there won't be any Lannistermen in the capital once the trial commences. Oh, and also, he cleverly bans trial by combat. Now Cersei is screwed. The High Sparrow has won. I mean, he kinda already won with the whole union-proclamation, but now he has executed it through in a flawless manner. He won. When Cersei's trial happens, there isn't a bone in his body that thinks Cersei has either the audacity or the shrewdness to come back. Margaery has though. That's the irony too. She dies while forming some sort of fake alliance with the High Sparrow, just to save her brother. What would have happened after Loras was already saved though I don't truly know. Maybe just flee. Or maybe revenge.

Why everyone hates Joffrey:

There are a huge list of Bad guys that we love. Darth Vader, Freddie, Hannibal, ect. The reason we hate Joffrey is that he has no inherent power. All of his power is assigned. He is just a weak little cruel man. A fourth grader could kick his ass. That is why we hate him. If he were a hulking man with great ability with a sword there would be some grudging respect but he is just a spoiled shit.

Found this online and was wondering if someone could turn it into a Jon Snow sigil. I was thinking manipulating the image by turning the background black, making the wolf white, and the Dragon red. Are any of you good enough at Photoshop or Gimp to give it a shot and post what you produce?

Thanks in advance.

Arya would probably not strangle her, and that was part of the prophecy iirc. Most likely Jaime, especially since he was in fact born after Cersei. Twins, yes he was the second out of the womb.
