O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

Shri Phani asked Shri Swami to explain more about the necessity of Pravrutti or path of justice as pre-requisite for entering Nivrutti or spiritual life.

Shri Swami replied: It is incomplete understanding about Pravrutti (justice or discipline) to think that Pravrutti is one field of subject and Nivrutti(competely attaching to God and loving Him) is another field of subject. People think that Pravrutti is related to the balance of the society, which pleases God because God is the administrator of the society created by Him. According to them, Nivrutti is totally different, which is confined to the bond with God by which God gets extremely pleased. In the first path of Pravrutti, God is pleased whereas in the second path of Nivrutti, God is extremely pleased. Hence, they think that they need not bother about the first path and they can fully concentrate on the second path only.

They do not understand that the first path of Pravrutti or justice is only a part of the second path of Nivrutti. The distance from Vijayawada (a palce in India) to Itarsi (a place in between Banaras and Vijayawada) is a part of the total distance from Vijayawada to Banaras. Without attaining success in Pravrutti, you cannot enter Nivrutti. Without travelling the distance from Vijayawada to Itarsi, you cannot enter the distance from Itarsi to Banaras. In fact, in the distance from Vijayawada to Banaras, the distance from Vijayawada to Itarsi is the first part only.

The starting point of the human being is the spot in which several bonds with various intensities form a net that obstructs the human being to reach the God. These bonds can be strong bonds with deep intensities (Eshanas), which are three in number. They are: 1) Bond with money, 2) Bond with wife or husband and 3) Bond with children. There can be several other bonds, which are with weak intensities like bonds with parents, relatives, friends etc., and reduction of these bonds involves liberation from week bonds and confining to strong bonds. Reduction means the decrease of intensity in the bonds so that the weak bonds get destroyed and strong bonds only remain. In this process of reduction of intensity of the weak bonds, even the strong bonds become weak. Hence, the process of reduction of intensity in every bond is the procedure of Pravrutti, which results in not only decreasing the intensity of all the bonds but also the destruction of weak bonds due to the reduction of intensity. Therefore, reduction in the intensities of worldly bonds is main effort in Pravrutti.

When you are left over with these three minimum bonds, which became weak due to reduced intensities, you have crossed Pravrutti and reached the goal or end point of Pravrutti. The starting point or the bottom most level in Pravrutti is indicated by Duryodhana and Ravana (both were demons aspired for wealth and wife of others respectively) , who are not satisfied with their own part of wealth and own wife respectively. Both were involved with unlimited ambition in illegal earning and illegal sexual life respectively. Wealth (Artha) and sexual life (Kama) are the main fields of Pravrutti. Both these involved in illegal earning and illegal sex, represent the present human being in this age of Kali.

The path of Pravrutti advises Duryodhana to become Dharmaraja ( a devotee who obeyed justice striclty in his life) , who is satisfied with his own part of wealth (Kingdom) or at least five villages, the minimum most. Dharmaraja named the four villages for the sake of his four brothers and asked for any petty village to be given to him. Similarly, the path of Pravrutti advises Ravana to become Rama, who is satisfied with His own wife. If every human being in this present time follows this path of Pravrutti or justice, no human being is hurt. Since the climax of justice is not to hurt any other human being (Ahimsa paramoo dharmah), the society lives peacefully in a balanced state and this will please God. The climax of justice is actually not to hurt any living being in this creation and thus, not killing the living beings for food also forms a part of the climax of justice.

After minimization of the number of bonds and their intensities, the field of Nivrutti starts, which is the sacrifice of even those minimum bonds for the sake of God. Prahlada sacrificed father and Shankara sacrificed the mother for the sake of God. Buddha sacrificed all the three left over minimum number of bonds for the sake of God by leaving His kingdom (wealth), His beautiful wife (Yasodhara) and pretty son (Rahula). This is the end point of Nivrutti.

Dharmaraja reached the topmost point of Pravrutti in the Bharatam(a scripture)  and Gopikas( female devotees of God who left everything for God) reached the top most point of Nivrutti in the Bhagavatam(a scripture). Only Dharmaraja can enter the Nivrutti and not Duryodhana. Dharmaraja travelled all over the Pravrutti and reached the starting point of Nivrutti (Itarsi). Gopikas travelled from the initial point of Nivrutti (Itarsi) and reached the top most point of Nivrutti (Banaras). In the early births, Gopikas were sages, who travelled all over Pravrutti and reached the top most point of Pravrutti like Dharmaraja. They had strict character confined to their husbands and lived with full satisfaction with their minimum earned wealth (cows giving milk, curd and butter) that was used to feed their children and families. In this last life as Gopikas, they sacrificed always three minimum bonds also for the sake of Lord and reached the top most point of Nivrutti (Banaras).

The sage Vyasa wrote both these epics to explain Pravrutti and Nivrutti forming the single road to the ultimate Goal. Duryodhana and Ravana always remained in the bottom most level of Pravrutti (Vijayawada) only. Rama ( a past human form of God) stands at the top most level of Pravrutti like Dharmaraja. Hanuman, who sacrificed even marriage for the sake of the God, stands at the top most point of Nivrutti. The eternal divine fruit of Nivrutti was obtained by Gopikas and Hanuman. Gopikas were given Goloka, which is above head of the Lord. Hanuman ( a great devotee of God)  became the divine incarnation as future Lord Brahma.

The main point in this message is that you should recognize the other phase of Pravrutti coin. You are seeing only one side of the coin, which is that Pravrutti (path of justice) gives happiness to all the human beings of the society and there by pleasure to God. This is only one side of the Pravrutti coin. If you confine to this one side only and feel that Nivrutti is totally a different path from Vijayawada to Banaras, you neglect the path Vijayawada—Itarsi—Banaras and refuse to travel in the path from Vijayawada to Itarsi, you are loosing everything. The reason is that there is only one path, which is Vijayawada—Itarsi—Banaras and there is no alternative way from Vijayawada to Banaras. We have to reach Itarsi to go to Banaras. In terms of concept, all this means that you have to travel through Pravrutti only to enter the Nivrutti. Travelling through Pravrutti means minimization of the intensities of the bonds (consequently the number is reduced), which alone is the path to do the total sacrifice of bonds (i.e., sacrifice of the minimum bonds also). This is the other side of the Pravrutti coin and if you do not see the second face, you are totally mistaken and you are totally misled in the spiritual path.

I can explain this with reference to the present man (or woman), who do illegal earning through corruption mostly for the sake of his children. He should minimise the intensity of his bond in money and children so that he leads a simple life with lawful earnings. This is the climax of Pravrutti. Unless this is reached, he cannot sacrifice even the minimum lawful earnings for the sake of the God like Saktuprastha, who sacrificed even his minimum food in the drought. Therefore, if you avoid corruption and become satisfied with the minimum justified earnings, you have travelled half the path in the spiritual line to reach the ultimate goal.

You are thoroughly mistaken if you feel that you have not entered the path of spiritual line in your worldly life led with justice and think that you have to enter the spiritual line in your old age making a fresh beginning. When God said that He incarnates on this earth to establish justice (Pravrutti), it means that He shows half of the way in spiritual line.

Similarly, if you are satisfied with your married wife and avoid illegal sex, it means that you have travelled half of the way in spiritual line.

Bond means mind or nervous energy. If the bond is hidden in you, it is in the form of potential energy. If the bond is expressed in words, a little of the potential energy is converted in to kinetic energy. If the bond is expressed in practical action, the total potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. All the bond energy should be proved to be with God only (Ekabhaktih...  Gita).

If you have any other bond, the bond energy with God is diverted or divided. To achieve this ultimate goal, minimization of diversion of the bond energy to other worldly bonds is essential pre-requisite step. The Gita says that ignorant people do not understand the essence of Pravrutti and Nivrutti through sharp analysis (Pravruttimcha Nivruttimcha...). Jaimini (a sage) emphasising Pravrutti or Dharma is the essential pre-required preacher before you enter the Nivrutti or philosophy preached by Vyasa(a sage). Jaimini stands for the path from Vijayawada to Itarsi, Vyasa stands for the path from Itarsi to Banaras and there is only one way from Vijayawada to Banaras, which is through Itarsi only.

Astrology, Vastu Vs Philosophy

Mostly, the people believe in unimaginable events and unimaginable God with 50—50 probability in both philosophy and astrology. A philosopher salutes God in the temple that comes on the way thinking that nothing is lost by saluting God, even if He does not exist and some favour may be achieved if God exists. A similar believer in astrology also thinks that if a work is started in auspicious time, nothing is lost even if the astrology is false. In case, the astrology is correct, the auspicious time may help him. Similarly, the rules of house construction(Vastu). This concept of 50—50 probability is the basic ruling faculty of the psychology of almost all the modern human beings.

The auspicious time and rules of the construction of house involve the concept of unimaginable relationship. The faith in unimaginable God is founded by such unimaginable concepts and unimaginable events called miracles. Thus, astrology serves as the subject introducing the unimaginable concept proved through unimaginable events. The philosophy gives weight to the unimaginable events done by God in the name of miracles. The astrological predictions are also experienced by several generations of humanity and are not different from miracles. Building the faith in the unimaginable God through such unimaginable concepts experienced is the main motto of the astrology, which forms the basic part of the spiritual knowledge. If you say that the predictions of astrology are false, the miracles are also said to be false. The common area of foundation of unimaginable concept exists in both the fields to the same extent.

Scientists do not believe astrology due to the misunderstanding that the inert planets in the space control the human life. Certainly, science is correct since such misunderstood concept is impossible and wrong. The real concept is that the unimaginable powers of God called as planets are only controlling the human beings. Since science keeps silent about the unimaginable concept, science does not negate astrology, but, is silent about astrology in the real light of the true concept. Atheists negate astrology because they negate God also since they discard the unimaginable concept. Philosophers also keep silent about astrology feeling that the planets are different from the controlling powers of God called deities with different names. They accept the deities but not the planets. In fact, the presiding deity of planet and controlling deity in philosophy are one and the same. Philosophy speaks about the deity Yama and Astrology says the same Yama as Shani (Saturn). Both are sons of the Sun only. Saturn is said to be deity of knowledge (Jnana kaaraka). Yama also gave excellent spiritual knowledge to Nachiketa. Hence, the contents are the same and the names are only different.

Enjoying Happiness & Misery is Yoga

Lord Krishna enjoyed the praise of Dharmaraja and His enjoyment is indicated by the smile on His face. Immediately, Shishupala scolded Him continuously. Lord Krishna kept the same smiling face indicating that He enjoys the misery also equally. Therefore, the equality of enjoyment in both happiness and misery is Yoga. Yoga does not mean the equality of forced neutrality in both happiness and misery. If neutrality is Yoga, the Lord could have kept neutral with silent peaceful face indicating His detachment from both happiness and misery. Therefore, the Yoga preached in the Gita as the equality is the equality in enjoyment in both and not the equality in neutrality in both.

God will accept your offering if it is offered without any aspiration for returns
Signs of a true preacher

A true preacher also preaches the same true knowledge. He will say that the rupee (dollar) given by you to God will not return back to you with interest because you have not invested your energy in the service of God as loan to Him. In fact it is reverse. You have taken the energy from God as loan and in fact you should return it along with interest. At least you can use a little of it for your selfish ends and return back the huge balance to God. At the worst, you should return at least a little to God after using a huge amount for your selfish ends. Can we imagine the fate of the people, who do not return at least a little of the loan taken from God? The false preacher always propagates false knowledge to exploit the innocent people and get selfish benefits.

He says that you will get back the money multiplied by several folds, if you donate a little to God. He collects that little money for his selfish ends posing himself as the representative of God. People are exploited for their ambition of getting back the money in multiple form. The true preacher says that God has nothing to do with such business (naadatte kasyachit…Gita). He says that God will accept your offering in case it is offered without any aspiration for returns. He explains always the true concept without bothering about the returns in terms of business. Whether anything is given to him or not, he will not be concerned about it and spreads always the true knowledge, which may be liked or not by the people. If he gets something through the propagation of such knowledge, he will feel that it is given by God only through the medium of human beings and expresses his gratefulness to God.

What will happen after death?

ACTIONS DONE DURING LIFETIME ALONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT SOUL

Rituals After Death Help Children Only

O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

Everybody is very anxious to know the post proceedings after death. Death is clearly understood by the Science. According to Science, the human being is a composite machine comprising of several correlated instrumental mechanisms called systems like heart, lungs, kidneys etc. In a factory, you can see several machines working together in correlation with each other. The alive human being is such a functioning factory. When the total factory is shut down without the function of any machine, such a shutdown of all the systems in the human being is called as death. Up to this, Science is perfectly correct in explaining the procedure of death. After death, Science says that nothing happens. When the factory is shutdown, nothing happens. Therefore, there is no re-birth of the individual soul. The human being is decomposed into five elements, which merge with the gross cosmic five elements of this universe. Another new body is created from the five gross cosmic elements like the construction of a new factory in a different place. As there is no link between the old destroyed factory and the new constructed factory, there should be no link between a dead person and newly born person. In this scientific concept one need not worry about bad deeds if the consequent punishments are skipped during the life time.

The file gets closed with the death. The Gita strongly opposes the above concept in the beginning itself, which says that any individual soul is born to die only and dies to take birth only. Science asks for the proof about the re-birth. The Divine Scripture never preaches anything without practical proof. Experience is the basis for any authority. All the authorities are derived from the perception only. There are hundreds of instances proving the re-birth. A child reveals the whole story of its past life and on verification, it is found true. The individual soul as a baby is always perplexed with the thoughts of the previous birth. It is unable to express due to lack of expression as speech. Its experience can be inferred from its sudden laughing and weeping. As the childhood progresses, the memory of the previous birth gets erased and the mind becomes active with the information of the present birth. Still, some strong thoughts reflect throughout the life. This is the general process of every human being. But, in the case of some human beings, very strong thoughts and sometimes total information of the previous birth impressed strongly gets expressed even in the advanced state of childhood. This is the will of God to provide practical proof for re-birth.

Therefore, we must always believe the Divine Scripture, which is the store of complete knowledge. Science is a store of partial knowledge. We must respect Science also since it deals with a systematic analysis. Hence, all the partial knowledge stored by Science is perfectly systematic and true. By this, you should not be over impressed and say that Science stores all the knowledge. Some scientists are biased and do not agree with the spiritual concepts even if we establish these with systematic analysis. Such scientists are not the perfect scientists due to their ego, jealousy to scriptures and rigid thinking.

As per the Divine Scriptures, an energetic body, which is a replica of this total human being similar in physical constitution and psychological setup rises from the body as soon as the factory is shutdown. This energetic body is alive body with the awareness having all the existing qualities. The materialized brain and nervous system are absent, but still the thoughts as energetic pulses are constituted with the mechanism of an electromagnetic disc in the computer. Thus, life and mind exist in this energetic body as said in the Veda (Manomayah Praana Shareera netaa). After death, this individual soul is subjected to lot of enquiry in the world meant for departed souls (Pretaloka). After the enquiry, this individual soul may go to hell and its energetic body is called as ‘Dhooma Shareera’. If it goes to heaven, it is called as ‘Bhoga Shareera’.

If it goes to God, it is called as ‘Divya Shareera’. The rituals after death have no connection with the departed soul. Whatever was committed by the soul during its life time here is alone responsible for that soul. The rituals performed by the children are concerned to their welfare only. In fact, the doer of the rituals worships the departed soul for the welfare of his family. The ritual cannot affect the departed soul in any way. It is purely for the welfare of the doer and not at all for the welfare of the departed soul. The essence of the ritual is only to give food and money (Dakshina) to a deserving scholar of spiritual knowledge. The deserving person must know the true interpretation of the Divine Scripture and also must not aspire and demand anything from the doer. The Veda says that both these are essential qualities of a deserving person (Shrotriyasya Chaakama hatasya…). The first quality is theoretical side and the second quality is the practical side. If the deserving person happens to be the human incarnation, it is extraordinary occasion and in such case even seven generations of departed souls are uplifted. Vishnu Datta, a devotee, was blessed in that way, when Lord Datta attended the ritual in human form.

Even though the Preacher teaches the truth so powerfully, a human brain always adopts fifty-fifty probability. Due to that, you will doubt the Preacher as fifty percent God and fifty percent human being. Now, you will think that if the Preacher is human being, all this will not be correct since nothing is visible. To avoid the risk of fifty percent probability, the human being orders its children to perform the ritual as usual! The Lord said in the Gita that even God cannot resist the human nature (Nigrahah Kimkarishyati… Gita).

Repent and transform from today onwards

Rectify your sins at least from today onwards

Those who do corruption (illegal money earning & illegual sexual contacts) will be born as animals

The soul will continue in the lives of animals forever because such a life is far better than the corrupt human life. Even the most cruel animal earns the food when it is hungry only. But, this human being earns and earns even though it is granted wealth for its hundred future generations!

All the sins done by you in that specific track shall be cancelled by the Lord if you do not repeat the sin in future.

The transformation must be real and permanent

The reason why Lord Jesus wrote the sin of everybody on the sand without opening it to anyone else

Certainly, nivrutti (loving service to God ) is the highest, which is higher than the pravrutti (obeying justice)

Pravrutti is just the minimum most expected nature of humanity that you should follow as a human being. It is not something to be achieved. It is something that you should always posses in inherent natural way.

The expected nature, which is the minimum most standard, is pravrutti.

Your failure in pravrutti will lead to not only the loss of higher benefit in the future, but also will result in the loss of the present status. Not only the loss of promotion, but also the demotion is the result for the failure in Pravrutti.

If you fail in Pravrutti, you can never dream to enter the kingdom of Divine Father. Not only this much, but also, you can never dream of getting this present human birth again in future.

After several millions of births as animal, if God becomes confident that you will not do corruption again in the human life, there is a possibility for you to become a human being.

Think about the horrible future that results due to corruption in Pravrutti.

A corrupt soul can never enter the inner circle of God because you will be corrupt in the divine service also. Even God fears for the corrupt human being!

The far better life of the animal in comparison to the life of a corrupt human being is a real favour to the soul due to the boundless kindness of the Divine Father.

God is so kind that even His punishments are boons only for the humanity if the real analysis is done.

No Use of Theoretical Confession Without Rectification

O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

Shri Kishore Ram asked: You have given two powerful messages regarding Pravrutti (following justice). Is there any mistake on my side regarding pravrutti?

Shri Swami replied: I have given the messages to you because there is no mistake on your side in Pravrutti (your behaviour to co-human beings) . The style of Lord Datta is to indirectly preach the people, who really need rectification in a specific line, by preaching directly the person, who does not need rectification in that specific line. If you preach a sinner regarding his sin, he will be hurt due to the basic inherent ego that is touched by your message. If you give the same message to a non-sinner in the presence of the specific sinner, your preaching will touch the sinner secretly without damaging his ego. The non-sinner will not be worried because he has not done that sin. The message will work as curing medicine in the case of sinner so that he will try to resist the sin from that day onwards. The same message will act as preventive medicine in the case of a non–sinner also, who may face the same sin in future. Therefore, the medicine is not only for cure but also is for prevention. Hence, every message is useful to everybody either for cure or prevention.

You need not reject any message from the divine preacher thinking that it does not apply to you, now. Lord Datta has given this message to you since it does not apply to you. Since it is not applicable to you, you need not be worried at all. It is meant for the sake of certain other sinners only. Lord Datta does not give the message to the people, who need it. If He gives the message to the needy people, that will hurt them because nobody likes the sins done by him to be known to anyone else. If you declare the sin of anybody before all the people, the sinner will be hurt and will not accept the sin. Such a person will never have transformation, which should be done only in privacy.

Arjuna asked Lord Krishna several questions, which are not related to him. He asked the points related to the general humanity. It may be seen as if the question is related to Arjuna to hurt his ego. But, the ego of Arjuna was not at all hurt since he conquered his ego and for the sake of humanity only, he appeared as an ignorant person asking answers for his sake. Arjuna asked the Lord regarding the control of unstable mind (chamchalam hi...) appearing as if his mind is unstable. He had totally controlled mind and pleased Lord Siva by doing severe penance through perfectly stable mind. He did not mind regarding the untrue insult coming on to him for the sake of welfare of the humanity. He was the incarnation of sage Nara. Taking Arjuna as the ideal example, you can bare the insult that has fallen on you for the sake of the welfare of humanity.

God Likes Secret Transformation Protecting Your Dignity

Generally, Lord Datta throws all the ignorance on Himself and gives the message so that the privacy of the ignorant person will not be hurt in any way. You should take whatever is applicable to you and rectify your sins at least from today onwards. All the sins done by you in that specific track shall be cancelled by the Lord if you do not repeat the sin in future. This is the real practical confession. Mere theoretical confession without rectification in practice is of no use. The Lord does not like to hurt you or insult you in any way, but, likes only your secret transformation protecting your dignity. The transformation must be real and permanent even if it is a secret. There is no use of public confession if the practical transformation is unreal. This is the reason why Lord Jesus wrote the sin of everybody on the sand without opening it to anyone else.

Almost all the human incarnations stressed on pravrutti only, which is treated as the ultimate goal. Of course, nivrutti (practical service to God) is the ultimate goal. But, nivrutti will crumble into pieces without the basic pravrutti. Certainly, nivrutti is the highest, which is higher than the pravrutti. The castle above the earth is in the higher level than the underground foundation. But, if the foundation is absent or defective, the upward construction will totally collapse.

Pravrutti is just the minimum most expected nature of humanity that you should follow as a human being. It is not something to be achieved. It is something that you should always posses in inherent natural way. The fire should be hot and the water must be cool. The expected nature, which is the minimum most standard, is pravrutti.

The reflection of pravrutti in spiritual path happens to be the nivrutti. For example, we consider that ungratefulness in pravrutti as the highest sin. Its reflection in the spiritual path is that you should express the gratefulness to God always for the continuous favours done by Him starting from the grant of human birth to you. Whenever a miracle was expressed, Jesus always submitted prayer to the Divine Father with extreme gratefulness. The gratefulness expressed by you to any person helping you brings out this divine quality in the case of God also. Nivrutti (loving and serving God) is only the extension of pravrutti. When you are unfit to be a human being, how can you think of becoming a divine angel? You deserve to become an animal or bird, which always spends all its entire life time just only for securing the livelihood even through sinful ways. When you earn the money through sinful way, which is more than your required quantum for livelihood, you will become an animal or bird or insect to earn the minimum livelihood through the same sinful way. Earning more than the required livelihood in wrong way is sin. But, earning the livelihood through wrong way is not that much sin. Therefore, your transformation from human life to the life of the animal is for betterment only. You should know that this punishment is also a favour to you because you are transformed from sinful state to a state of lesser sin by becoming the animal after the human life. After several millions of births as animal, if God becomes confident that you will not do corruption again in the human life, there is a possibility for you to become a human being.

Generally, such a chance is very very rare because the soul coming from the birth of animal to the human life will again be curved like the tail of the dog. Therefore, think about the horrible future that results due to corruption in Pravrutti. A corrupt soul can never enter the inner circle of God because you will be corrupt in the divine service also. Even God fears for the corrupt human being! Therefore, the basic impression or the first impression of a soul is through Pravrutti only. The soul will continue in the lives of animals forever because such a life is far better than the corrupt human life.

Even the most cruel animal earns the food when it is hungry only. But, this human being earns and earns even though it is granted wealth for its hundred future generations! In this way, the continuous life as an animal is certainly a favour to the soul than the life of a corrupt human being. Hence, nobody should blame God that the life of the animal is a punishment given by God based on His vengeance. The far better life of the animal in comparison to the life of a corrupt human being is a real favour to the soul due to the boundless kindness of the Divine Father. God is so kind that even His punishments are boons only for the humanity if the real analysis is done.
