Technology like Bitcoin can make collecting taxation difficult.
The advent of Bitcoin and blockchain technology has made government taxation obsolete, given how difficult cryptocurrency can be to identify and trace.

+Brian Long Exactly, and the reason most people go "official" is the result of a simple cost/benefit analysis. Cryptocurrency can change the figures, so more and more will risk the black market.

Modern technological inventions are filling the considerable void caused by government incompetency in South Africa.
Decentralized technologies like Bitcoin and emergency response app Cell 411 could help with South Africa’s economy and high crime rates.

Kids need to waste time and get into scrapes they get themselves out of.

Otherwise they will demand ever more protections as they get older. We are already seeing this on campus.

In this interesting and fact-packed Quartz article, “WhyAre Our Kids So Miserable?“, reporter Jenny Anderson looks at a bunch of factors working against kid happiness. The biggest is the off-base belief that our kids are only learning when they are doing academic work: ...

First off, it's untrue that it's "certainly not" possible to pay out of pocket for college if you're middle class. I'm doing it. It hurts, a lot, but I'm doing it. And there are cheaper schools out there than the one I'm attending. So if you're middle class and you can't pay for school out of pocket, it's because you have other priorities. That's fine, but just say that. Don't rant that it's "impossible".

But don't get me wrong. I'm certainly not going to try to justify college tuitions. The supposed young woman in this word picture is right that tuitions are astronomical and she's right about the cause: government money. She's very astute to recognize the truth of that, but her economics (and basic logic) completely fails her when in the same breath she calls for even more government money. It didn't work before and it screwed things up... so let's keep doing it? Seriously, it's like this was meant to lampoon the niece.

I completely agree with her first rant against 'join the military'. That's a stupid and immoral response to someone who wants an education. Yet more military is exactly what you get when you ask for more government. A government that spends is a government that needs resources, and guess who's got resources? Other people. We need cheap oil. We destroy Iraq. We need cheap Chinese goods. We knock surveillance aircraft into Chinese airplanes on their borders. You need anyone to fall into line? Install a base. Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria. More stuff. More customers. More America on top. It's not a coincidence that United States military spending has gone up and up and up in the 20th century while at the same time welfare spending has gone up and up. To hand out stuff you have to have stuff, and it ain't coming from the people you're handing it out to. It's coming from other people.

That's what this young woman is asking for. She's seen the destruction of government subsidies in the economy, housing, and education and is asking for, to use her own words, "THE EXACT SAME STUPID GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY PLAN".

A stunning new Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that one of the United States Navy’s top commanders was relieved of his command a few hours ago after he sent out an “email/posting” revealing that President Barack Obama was in the process of purchasing a multi-million dollar seaside luxury villa in the United Arab Emirates city (UAE) of Dubai. According to this report, the Commander of the US Navy’s...

U.S. Ranks Dismally in Press Freedom As Obama Wages “War on Whistleblowers Who Leak Info” http://rgn.bz/7jEN

America’s proud moniker of ‘Leader of the Free World’ is slipping fast into the recesses of increasingly authoritarian and secretive government.

The World Press Freedom Index, issued by the Watchdog group Reporters Without Borders, ranked the United States at a dismal No. 41 out of 180 countries – putting it just barely in the top quarter of nations, which itself was actually an ‘improvement’ over the past year.

That is a far cry from the perceptions that most Americans have cherished, and politicians have so frequently touted in televised speeches.

Some people would say Donald Trump is unpresidential? Maybe, but he has been saying it since 1987: HAMPTON, N.H. — The shiny black French-made helicopter landed at the grassy airfield in southern New Hampshire on the morning of October 22, 1987. Out stepped Donald Trump. The 41-year-old real estate mogul from New York wore a scarlet tie and a navy blue suit and slipped into a rented limousine. … Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign is often deride...
