For example Kylie Jenners lips became the perfect lips everyone wanted, Kim Kardashians bum has been created into an emoji it is so popular, and the rest of the Kardashians have fallen into the medelling, health, and fitness trends. As a result of their fame the Kardashians influence many teens and women today.

Pop culture is eye-catching, controversial, and says a lot about our generation as a whole. We make good out of bad situations and enjoy poking fun at people who we dislike. Using humor to our advantage, to cover up, and to expand on our points is our current culture.

For my current event I chose to focus on the self driving car. There have been many debates and discussions about how these cars would fit into our society. Some people think that it would be a danger to the public, and others believe that it will be an innovation that will help cut down on collision rates. In my opinion, the self driving car is one of the most talked about things in 2017.

Something that is huge in pop culture right now, is the fact that news is popping up on social media before the news is actually reporting on it. An example of this is the magnitude 8.0 earthquake that shook Mexico. There are people giving prayers/etc. to the people of Mexico, but there are also people reporting first hand with photos, videos and so on. This never happened before, as this is a recent thing people have started doing with the rise of Social Media. #Mexico on twitter shows this very well. This is a different side of pop culture that's changed recently, anyone can report on anything, all around the world, sharing it to the everyone immediately.

This article presents an issue with a Match.com ad at a subway station. The ad reads "If you don't like your imperfections, someone else will". With the picture, of course, this heavily implies that freckles are imperfections and has offended a lot of poeple online. Match.com has since apologized and pulled the ad. Overeation? Or justified? What do you think and why?
