#‎Nalbinding‬ ‪#‎tips‬ ‪#‎joins‬ - Here's a good video on the braided join. (It's my favorite join because 1. there's no spit involved 2. you can use it with any type of yarn - wool, cotton, etc.) She uses 3 inches of the braid. With nalbinding I can get away with 1-2 inches and I usually pull the middle yarn down into the braid. Then there's no "top" tail that gets roughed up as you pull it through stitches.

What are your favorite joins?

Spring-Summer 2016 color challenge

Welcome to The Spring-Summer Color Challenge 2016.

In this challenge the object is simple:
Use color in a fun way as you make an item.
The item can be whatever you choose.

The color challenge isn’t a competition.
I’ll make a little graphic badge as a reward for everyone who posts a picture of an item made with the challenge theme.

We will use this thread for both pictures and discussions regarding the challenge.

The Challenge will run until September 1st, 2016.

For inspiration I started a Pinterest board for the challenge: https://www.pinterest.com/cloudlakes/ravelry-nalbinding-color-challenge-inspiration/

There’s many ways to use color in nalbinding: spinning interesting colored yarn, making spots and stripes, using a gradient yarn, pretty embellishments on a plain background, colored edgings, etc.

Show us what the color challenge means to you!

It's been pretty quiet here in our little community. To liven it up here a bit, I'm posting a challenge for us. A color challenge. (It's also the challenge in the Ravelry group). So if you're a part of both - show of your projects in both places. :)

Maria started a sweater stitch-along group on Facebook. If anyone's interested - it should be a fun winter project.

There's a different one each Sunday until Christmas. A PDF in English is at the bottom of the page.

I've made the little trees and they are so easy and cute. Hoping to make the snowmen soon.

New Stitch Challenge 2015:
Shall we start off with our first ever learn a new stitch challenge?

Here's the guidelines. (And they are subject to change as the group needs. We just need something to start with.)

Pick a stitch to learn
Make a project with it
Post about the project and your experience with learning the stitch. (In a separate post under the Challenges section. Put "New Stitch Challenge 2015:" at the top of it so we can easily figure out which posts go with which challenge as we have more challenges.)

Challenge ends May 31, 2015

Also, let us know if you're having troubles with a stitch or project. I'd bet we can help you past that bump so you can complete your project.

What are your nalbinding goals? Learn new stitches?  Make a particular project? ???
