Question: How does a food chain illustrate energy flow/

This video shows how the food chain illustrates energy because the insect eating off the plant was getting energy and then the spider came and ate the insect resulting in the spider receiving the energy. Now when a animal like a bird eats the spider the bird will receive the energy all the way throughout the ecosystem. This video is the perfect example of energy flow in a food chain.

Question:Disturbances as an opportunity to increase diversity?

Disturbances are plants that are not native to the state. When a non native plant(disturbance to the prairie) starts growing it creates diversity because of the new birds and insects that might come feed on it.The plant can also change the soil underground.

Question: Carbon Cycle processes... (photosynthesis, respiration, and combustion)

1.) Photosynthesis: sunlight energy to chemical energy
Equation: CO2+O2-----C6H12O6+O2 (energy in)
2.) Respiration: Opposite of photosynthesis rather than making sugar it starts with it
Equation: C6H12O6+O2--------CO2+O2+energy (energy out)
3.)Sedimentation:the tendency for particles to settle of the fluid+ rocks contain huge amount of carbon
4.) Combustion:process by which a liquid or gaseous fuel is oxidized (burned), creating carbon dioxide, water, other chemicals, and heat

Question: What is human impact on environment?

For example in Springbrook Prairie this man made lake is a example of Human Impact because humans dug in a lake that took many many year to stop flooding. In this example it is a positive example.
